One of my favourite spots in Lofoten is the coast in Vareid.
The shapes of the rocks, the seaweed, and the waves always offer many compositional options.
In this case, I took advantage of the round natural pool accentuated by the waves and centered it and aligned it with the mountains in the background.

Good light!
Isn't this what you do after you move to Kansas? The storm rolling in at sunset is always cool. (18 picture compilation)
I never post photos taken with my phone but it was the only thing I had with me making it the best camera for the job! :) Never intended to take a panoramic but I had enough photos that I could put it together, taken out front Bradies Tavern in Strathfieldsaye not long before the storm hit with wind speeds over 100km/h and a lot of rain.
Seen a few posts of damage mainly caused by trees, hope everyone stayed safe!
I headed a little too west initially as this storm moved north, but ended up in more or less the right spot: this and the previous shot were taken at Mutdapilly. This is a blend of two images, although they were taken about 1/20th of a second apart. After this, I opted for safety and went to investigate a cell further west.
After something of a lull in storm activity, or at least my ability to be in the right place at the right time, a small but active cell moved north of Boonah. I got some shots of the main cell which eventually headed over Brisbane, before watching a couple of smaller cells further west. 22 January 2025.
This storm looked huge as it approached us. But in the end it was pretty tame. Basically, a lot of bell-ringing, but no ice-cream.
(In other news, loving the Nexus 6P camera).
The restored home will become the visitor center for Robinson Perserve in NW Manatee County, it was moved by barge down the Manatee river to its present location. Captured as a summer thunderstorm rolls in.
Storm Imogen at Portreath after work this evening. Seems I missed the biggest waves... dam having to work for a living!!! :)
Galeón Andalucía’ is a replica of the type of vessel that was used by the Spanish Crown for maritime expeditions during the 16th through the 18th centuries.

Some of New Mexico got rain.
And snow.
Not here.
We got wind and dust.
And virga.
That's when things are so dry,
that the rain evaporates before hitting the ground.
We get virga a lot.
