Story began in 1851 after George Story received a land grant from President Fillmore. In 1960, Lake Monroe was formed by the damming of Salt Creek which effectively cut Story off from easy access to Nashville and Bloomington. Since the main roads and railroad had already bypassed Story, the population fizzled out. It's seen a slight "rebirth' in the past 25 years after the town was purchased by a private citizen who renovated the 1851 general store and other buildings. The store is now a restaurant and there are several B & B's in other historic buildings in town.

The Hershey Story is one of the many wonderful attractions in Hershey, Pennsylvania. It is a museum dedicated to the life and philanthropy of Milton Hershey. This is an excellent and more low-key stop after visiting Hershey Park or Hershey World.

This 5 stories pagoda can be found at the entrance of the Nikko temple complex.
Nikko is one of the places I enjoyed the most during my journey to Japan. There is the tomb of Tokugawa Ieyasu, one of the most famous historical characters of Japanese history and first Shogun to the Edo period.
The temples of Nikko are quite different from the rest of temples I visited in Japan, mostly because the ornamentation is much more complex. Besides Nikko is into the mountains and surrounded by great forests.
This will be for sure a place to go again when coming back to Japan, and I hope to have also sometime to enjoy not only the temples but also the great nature around them.

Day 97 of Gratitude
Being in the Audience
Tonight I got to sit back and watch a show. While that doesn't mean my brain shut off and I got to fully enjoy it - I did see it. I am rarely in the audience. I'm either on stage or something caused me to be unable to make the showing. It's kind of nice being on this side. I remember it used to suck because all I wanted was to be back on stage. It's a lot easier now that I get my shot on stage every once in a while. Not sure when my next chance will be but hopefully it's during this project. For now it will wait because, tonight, I am thankful for the chance to be in the audience.
