It's a ball. It's made of yarn.
This is a story-ball I made. The idea is that it gets used in improvisational storytelling, both as a marker of who's telling the story at the moment (it's nice and soft when thrown at the next teller), and as a source of inspiration. It has 12 sides, each with a motif on.
It was also an exercise in crochet - each side demonstrates a different technique. Shown here, we have a butterfly in Irish crochet, a camel in Tunisian crochet (sideways), an Irish rose just visible at the top, an appliqued free-form Pig to the right, a spiral sun with added embroidery, and some beadwork just visible top left.
