You may have seen that a few days ago, I uploaded this image of a stylopised Andrena bee and included the top-right insert showing detail of the head of a parasitic male Stylops fly. On a whim, I decided to keep the bee in a collecting pot to see might happen. To my astonishment, one of the male Stylops flies emerged! I took it to an entomologist friend of mine last night. The fly was on its "last legs" by then, but we did get some photographs. I've inserted a shot of it, to update the story.
The bee is still alive, with the yet to emerge Stylops, still in-situ. Stylops flies parasitise solitary bees (and other insects). The adults develop inside the bee and then protrude from between the bee's abdominal segments. The female Stylops remain in the bee and have the appearance of flattened maggots. The males pupate and then emerge from the pupa as a flying form, seeking out parasitised bees with female Stylops flies protruding. They then mate with the protruding part!
Stylops flies are members of the Strepsiptera; the twisted-wing flies.

One evening, during our Disneyland Paris Magical Moments Events Tour, Toy Story Playland at Walt Disney Studios was open to us after the park was closed for "Disney's Dine with the PIXAR Stars" where we ate sumptuous food and played with our favorite characters from PIXAR Movies.

The story of plastic
After use, a consumer throw the bottle in the street or in a dustbin and a street child or a rag picker pick it & sell to a bhangari shop. Going from there to the flex factories. Just like the collected child or human being is earning a living, these collected bottles are going to any country in the world after recycling. Thus, crores of money are being added to the country's economy every year.
After meeting the domestic demand, plastic products worth Tk 1,200 crore were exported in the last financial year (2018-19), out of which the amount of plastic waste known as environmental pollutants was at least Tk 100 crore. Compared to five years ago, exports of plastics increased by 49 percent last year. In 2017, the export income was Rs. At present, Bangladesh ranks 12th in plastic exports.
The plastic industry started in Bangladesh in 1952. At this time the industry developed in Dhaka, Narayanganj and Chittagong. The density of this industry has been increasing in Islambagh of old Dhaka since 1965. Later, in the 1980s, the growth of this sector started to increase tremendously. At present there are a total of three thousand small and medium scale plastic factories in this sector, most of which are located in Old Dhaka. About 13 lakh workers are directly involved in this sector. A total of 15 categories of plastic products are produced in the country.
The government undertook the Tk 600+ crore 'BSIC Plastic Industrial City' project in Munshiganj which was supposed to be completed in June 2019.
The image of cleaners, street children and uprooted people collecting used plastic bottles from the streets or gardens can be seen all over the country. In many parts of the country, including the capital Dhaka, collecting plastic waste has become a profession for some people. And gradually its scope has come a long way. Over a thousand factories have been set up in the country centering on this promising industry. Employment is for millions of people. There are 800 factories and 75 exporters in the plastics industry in the country.
In 2001, for the first time, the export of various types of pet bottle bottles to China started. Gradually it spread. In 2010, 30,000 tons of PET plastic waste was exported. In 2013, it increased to 45,000 tons. At present, 4,500 plastic wastes are being exported to China every month. (2019)
Pet flakes or bottle crumbs are first cleaned with high quality chemicals after being taken abroad. After melting in the machine, the plastic pulp is reused to make new plastic bottles. In addition, a type of fiber is being made from stomach plastic pulp. Which is used to make pads, pushes, blankets, vanishing black and velvet used in car seats. Moreover, new exports to India and Vietnam are a matter of hope. In the last 1 or 2 years, more and more products including plastic ropes are being produced from discarded bottles or other plastic products. New factories are being set up, new young entrepreneurs are getting involved in this profession. All this is hopeful.
In 2016, I started visiting the plastic factories in Dhaka and Keraniganj to take pictures. Even at that time, big factories were rarely seen, many entrepreneurs were frustrated by the "negative" propaganda about plastic factories in the popular national news media of the country, as well as the "extortion". Even at that time I saw huge ponds or beels next to many big factories which were filled with plastic waste,, which was a huge threat to the environment. Gradually, when educated young people come to this profession, the issue of pollution disappears. The media don't get any negative publicity anymore. Many factories then took the time to "allow" the photographers to take pictures. The owner of the Flex factory said that it has been officially decided that it would be a punishable offense for anyone to report on "environmental pollution" of plastics without any evidence. This is also promising news.

Magician story paper, Happy Days, No. 74, March 14, 1896, Herman, the Boy Magician; or, On the Road with a Variety Show by N.S. Wood. Herman was a real act, nephew to magician Robert Heller, and appeared at the Fifth Avenue Theater in 1888. N.S. Wood (Nicholas Schaberger Woods), called "the Boy Actor" and "the Boy Hamlet" was a writer and actor who appeared in plays in theaters like Poole's, in plays like The Boy Detective, The Boy Scout, Out in the Streets and Orphans of New York (at a time when Richard Mansfield played Jeckyll and Hyde at the Harlem Comique). He also portrayed Hamlet at age 11, and was a character actor in many Thanhouser films, including Nicholas Nickleby in 1912 and The Picture of Dorian Gray in 1915.
Today, I set-up in a location providing a better view of the bridge than yesterday's location. Yesterday was about red and orange, today is all about blue.
