Bloomsburg University’s Great STEM Adventure Camps hosted more than 550 students from area schools this summer. Throughout the week the students — split into two different age groups — explored ways to grow their science, technical, engineering and math interests and abilities. The camps, which were coordinated by BU’s STEM Education Center, also investigated the arts. bloomu.edu/stem
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – USACE South Pacific Division Commander Brig. Gen. Mark Toy presents Demetrius Montoya (center) and Joseph Coston certificates recognizing their achievement in this year’s Central New Mexico Science and Engineering Research Challenge, held March 12-14 at the University of New Mexico. Montoya and Coston placed first in the Senior Division –Energy and Transportation category. The Challenge is part of Intel’s International Science and Engineering Fair’s (Intel ISEF) Research Challenges which is the world’s largest international pre-college science competition. More than 1,700 high school students from over 70 countries, regions, and territories are awarded the opportunity to showcase their independent research and compete for more than $5 million in prizes.
