Until I remembered that I work in a partnership and that a problem shared is a problem halved. So it was time to pass it over and see where the other half of id-iom will take it. I bought a new (new to me-really it's used) lens and tried it out this morning-it's the Tamron 200-400 mm, I read it described as the "budget photographers" telephoto-that's me the budget photographer. Anyway this is one of my first shots from it-I guess I should be using a tripod-but I don't wanna!

Ramshackle corrugated tin, plywood, plastic, pukkah bricks, sheets of asbestos, sweat, toil, people and garbage make Dharavi, just like piles of earth, sand, clay and other materials make ant hills. Dharavi and many other slums like it are nothing but human ant colonies built by legions of our urban poor. They are places which are at same time sombre, moving, joyful and interesting .Push and pull factors, bring people from our villages here everyday in search for something better. They settle here much to the neglect of our apathetic eyes. But under the squalor is great spirit and ingenuity. I went looking for this spirit in this place most people refer to as ‘Asia’s largest slum’ but I would prefer to call the ‘Heart of Mumbai’.

Home Office 1973. Aufgeräumt war da auch nicht, aber Hauptsache frische Blumen. Es war schon Herbst und im Garten war nix mehr. Diese hab ich von meinem Taschengeld bei Tengelmann gekauft. Und ich bekam nicht viel, meine Mutter hielt sich strikt an die Liste vom Jugendamt. Daran sieht man, wie wichtig mir Blumen 🌷 waren. Stay Tuned is een verhaal over jou en mij.

Een project waarmee Centraal Station Eindhoven en The Social Hub het allerkleinste in beeld brengt. Een zoektocht naar de balans tussen mens én techniek.

Techniek bestaat niet zonder samenwerking. Het begint en eindigt bij de mens. Het is een zoektocht in het onbekende, de kunst om te verdwalen en weer thuis te komen. Het verhaal gaat over de fascinatie en de verwondering over groot en klein. De allerkleinste objecten die de mens gemaakt heeft, en belangrijk zijn in onze moderne wereld.

Stay Tuned is een schouwspel van beeld en geluid, een uitnodiging om verwonderd en geïnspireerd te raken. Innovatief, intuïtief en energiek zijn we in deze Brainport regio bezig met grootse dingen. Lithografiemachines maken het allerkleinste mogelijk: chips. Noem het groot denken in onmetelijk klein.

Het stationsplein is altijd in beweging, een belangrijk decor waar Stay Tuned op projecteert. Voor alle voorbijgangers die denken aan de rijke geschiedenis tot aan alle dromers die benieuwd zijn naar de toekomst. Stay Tuned is voor iedereen.

Onze vooruitgang, ontwikkeling en overleving kan niet meer zonder het samenvoegen en optellen van individuele kennis. Niet zonder de durf en het doorzettingsvermogen van denkers, makers, dromers, twijfelaars, kunstenaars en vele, vele anderen. Iedereen telt mee.

Van groot naar klein om weer iets heel groots neer te zetten. Van mens naar techniek om weer bij de mens terug te komen. Raak geïnspireerd, blijf erbij, schakel in, doe mee…

ASML x GLOW

Met dit werk heeft ASML een overweldigende installatie gecreëerd. Een wonderlijke projectie die jarenlang in gedachten blijft. Én een groot begrip voor GLOW. Waarin de samenwerking met ASML een onvergetelijke indruk geeft van de samenkomst van kennis, technologie en creativiteit.

Als hoofdpartner van het festival werd ASML uitgedaagd om een lichtkunstwerk te ontwikkelen wat Eindhoven en haar bezoekers verbindt. In de GLOW Labs, die in januari 2022 gestart zijn, werkte ASML aan een lichtkunstwerk dat paste binnen het thema van GLOW 2022 en bij ASML als bedrijf. De medewerkers, hieronder voorgesteld, vormen een groep talenten die samen met kunstenaar en mapping artist Dirk van Poppel aan de slag zijn gegaan. They are from the Kid's Alpacaffe collection ... The little pink one is dressed like a little "coffee shop" waitress-server ... and the little white guy has a little sign around his neck that says ... "OPEN" ! (hmmmm. Simlian, are you trying to tell me to OPEN my Blythe Fifth Avenue shop ??? :)

Well, when I do ... HE is going to be RIGHT at the FRONT DOOR!!!
