Friends, I'm unearthing all kinds of forgotten photos in my archive. I made this one on April 15, 2014 when we lived in Tucson, Arizona in a house that had 5 skylights. They provided lovely indirect light for flower photography.
Lilium Stargazer is a hybrid of the Oriential group.
Oriental lilies are known for their fragrant perfume and
They bloom mid-to late Summer.
Stagrazers are easy to grow and do best in the sunlight. They have a fast growth rate and should be planted in full sun and in well drained loamy or sandy soil.

A stargazer lily reaching for the morning light. Took a break last Friday and visited the St. Paul Conservatory. A beautiful place to photograph flowers. A welcome break from the cold.
The pink varieties are considered symbolic of wealth and prosperity in some societies but
I took this shot in Buddist temple in Spain last Sept. A beam of sunshine was aiming it's ray in just the right spot.
Generated using Deep Dream Generator. The original photo was a Stargazer lily I purchased at the local market. Once it opened, it was magical. DDG helped to make it more so.

I suddenly have dozens of oriental lilies - the fragrance is undescribable!
All my other lilies fell prey to the pretty but evil lily leaf beetle...
Stargazer Lilies with a butterfly that was used with the permission of Wolfgang Hasselmann. I thank him for his generosity. The butterfly is called the German Common Blue Butterfly.
