The Art Gallery of Ontario's iconic spiral staircase designed by Frank Gehry is one of the most distinctive architectural features in Toronto, his birthplace.
From Puerto Blest we were invited to meet Los Cantaros, a lake 1.2 km above the Nahuel Huapi, formed by the melting of the snow of the mountain. From it comes a beautiful waterfall (with the same name) that can usually be visited at three different heights in specially constructed gazebos.
The access is about 700 steps in a structure made in wood, which in itself already seems somewhat tiring.
However, on the day of that visit, those steps and the whole structure were covered by ice, not snow, but slippery ice.
The choice was to climb or stay on the boat. I chose to going up the staircase and I do not regret it, although it gets a bit wet because with the sun that opened in the middle of the climb, the snow deposited on the trees began to melt and fall on the tourists. You can observe the ice falling in the pictures of the waterfall.
I just feel not having a filter with me to make the sky look better. The bright light really compromised the photos, and the time of the day wasn't the best for photos.
"You don't have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step."

A staircase leading to the Helidoni beach below the highway close to the city of Heraklion. The so called hidden beach
This is the staircase from the "Friedenswarte". This was built for the 25th anniversary of the GDR. Today, as then, it serves as a lookout tower and offers a wonderful view of "Brandenburg an der Havel"
