John Chute, a talented architect, inherited the Vyne in 1754 and immediately set about transforming the interiors. One of his most notable contributions is the Palladian Staircase Hall whereby, through clever design, he took a narrow, fairly awkward space and transformed it into classical theatrical masterpiece, which gives an impression of great depth and quality.
Three views of two curving staircases under the central skylight in Leon Country Public Library in Tallahassee, Florida.
The upper staircase is between the 2nd and 3rd floors. It is shown twice, from slightly different angles, in the top two photos.
The colorful pictures down on the main floor are by grade school children. This column often has displays of their art. Inside the column is a much used elevator.

Captured here is the double staircase of the Arlington Hotel in Hot Springs Arkansas. This hotel is one of my favorite places on earth.
When the tide is out, and the moon is full, the light reflect on the wet mud slaps to create the illusion of a staircase to the moon
Anymore nowadays these kinds of staircases usually have railings on their landings to prevent people from falling off!, but not this one in Flint: You can fall right off.

Spiral staircase in one of the spires of Holy Cross Church and school in Pfeifer, Kansas. The staircase leads up to the Choir balcony. The church was built in 1915-1918 at a cost of $56,000. The church is sometimes referred to as the "two-cent" church due to each family charge two cents on every bushel of wheat sold. The church is laid out in a form of a cross. The sanctuary is the head, the transepts are the arms, and the nave is the body of the cross.
Due to World War I, stained glass was hard to find so the windows were frosted and the wall were not painted. In 1962 the interior was redecorated under the guidance of Father Emil Sinner.
On July 1, 1993 the Diocese of Salina dissolved the parish. The church and cemetery are kept under with funds from the Holy Cross Charities, Inc., a non-profit. In 2008 the church was named one of the 8 Wonders of Kansas Architecture by the Kansas Sampler Foundation.

Did not recognize my shoes were on the picture. But leaning out that far, any different angle was impossible.
The main staircase on the MS Rotterdam. The super modern ships certainly don't look like this, so stuff like this was enjoyable but the shape of the rooms was less so.
Another interior shot from the bank building. Beautiful staircase. Yup, this is an office building - always has been. Wonder if this type of atmosphere makes for a more productive employee or if it's just distracting. I was pretty distracted. Classy stuff, those old oak staircases. Fun in Photoshop. Digital photo. Scanned from an old black'n white photo from my old darkroom ages. It's a bit disturbed by poor chemicals at the darkroom, but still...?
