It’s the SS Badger, a ferryboat that crosses Lake Michigan. This is the rear where they drove cars, trucks, motorcycles and even a big bus inside. The top 2 levels are where the people go. There were a lot of people on board. You see those 2 lifeboats on the side, there are a few more on the other side. I kind of wonder, with all the people on board, were there really enough lifeboats for everyone? Oh well, we didn’t need them.
SS Casanova is a 2006 Hanoverian/Arabian gelding. Currently he stands 15 HH, but has not finished growing. Casanova lives up to his name and has proved to be quite the charmer with everyone at the barn. His bold gaits and willingness to learn are going to make him a great partner for any endeavor. Casanova is currently working in a bridle and surcingle and should be able to start work under saddle next year. If you're looking for your next hunter or dressage horse, look no further. Surprise PowerPoint presentatioon! At least, it was sort of a surprise if you didn't read the day's guide the night before and instead woke up to Jarvis on the PA telling you about his presentation.
I took a lot of random shots and am sharing the best of them. I haven't been to Thunder Road in nearly 15 years and the cars all look alike to me, regardless of what Division they race in. I may have some of the Divisions wrong.
LMS stands for Late Model Sportsman
FT stands for Flying Tiger
SS stands for Street Stock
JYW stands for Junkyard Warrior
Some of these that I have labeled as LMS are probably actually from the American Canadian Tour which is another step above. They only race here a few times throughout the season.
