The Texas Maritime Academy and Texas A&M University at Galveston welcomed their newest training vessel at just before 1 p.m. on Monday, October 19, 2009. TMA, through the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Maritime Administration (MARAD) has acquired the S.S. Cape Gibson to serve as the academy’s fourth training ship.
The S.S. Cape Gibson will be used as a training facility for more than 300 members of the TMA Corps of Cadets. Docked at the Mitchell Campus, she will provide a learning platform for future licensed engine and deck officers and she will serve as a floating classroom for the academy’s summer cruises.
The new ship is 605 feet long, making her more than eighty feet longer than the former TMA training ship, the USNS Sirius. The USNS Sirius made her final departure from the Mitchell Campus on June 25, 2009. The S.S. Cape Gibson averages 18 knots (around 20 mph), and displaces almost 32,000 tons – nearly double what the USNS Sirius displaced.

Death SS was formed in 1977 in Pesaro by Steve Sylvester (born Stefano Silvestri), a future member of the Ordo Templi Orientis,[1] and Paul Chain (Paolo Catena), who would later embrace an experimental form of doom metal with his solo project, Paul Chain Violet Theatre. The band combined elements of horror, occultism and heavy metal to become a pioneer in horror metal[2] and black metal;[3] the musical style is called “horror music” by the band.[4] Sylvester left the band in 1982 and Chain replaced him with Sanctis Ghoram (featured on the Evil Metal EP) before closing the project in 1984 to start his solo career. Sylvester reformed the band in 1988 (with him being the only original member). This new incarnation of the band recorded their first full-length album, ...in Death of Steve Sylvester. There would be many line-up changes in the years to come, with Sylvester once again being the only constant.
Another design of Isambard Kingdom Brunel's designs in Bristol, the SS Great Britain was the largest passenger ship in the world at in her heyday (1840s/50s). She is now one of the most popular tourist attractions in Bristol and the dry dock museum area she is part of has loads to offer.

Manly ferry SS Balgowlah heads for Manly with enclosed promenade deck of varnished teak. The promenade decks were enclosed in the early 1930's on all the Manly ferries except for portions at either end, taking the lead from the new boats Dee Why and Curl Curl. Rose Bay in the distance. Built at Woolwich, Sydney in 1912. Balgowlah was slated for a refit similar to the Barrenjoey/North Head refit however that expense put an end to those plans and Balgowlah was withdrawn in 1951, stripped at Strides shipbreakers at Glebe Point by 1953. Her hull was scuttled at the "Ship's Graveyard" which is about 50km east of Sydney where water depth is between 270 and 390 metres. Like all ships at this location, her exact position is not known.
You will see the bow end at left with anchors. One of the few differences between Balgowlah and Barrenjoey was that Balgowlah had three unequally spaced portholes at the bow and three equally spaced portholes at the stern. Barrenjoey had the opposite. It's possible this may have been deliberate so that staff could tell them apart from a distance.
Well, since I found another shell for Jean-Louie, my El SS head was left character-less.
And my Lishe SS head, that used to be Yves, became Kuromi because cute.
Soooo... here I am, seeing if Yves fits in the El mold.
I think he doesn't x_x And the fact that he doesn't have a body to borrow doesn't help at all :P
Anyway, since I had the trouble of doing his face up, here's a pic :P
