Finally! Fresh flowers from the garden to bring Spring indoors!
“A Little Tale”…
As is known by all, our world moves in a circular motion. This creates the cycles of the seasons and the moon, the length of the days and nights, the aging process of all living beings, and so forth. Spring is the first cycle of the Wheel of the Year and it carries the heaviest load of responsibility compared to the others.
It is the time in the Wheel of the Year for the rebirth of the dead dormant earth, the promise and fulfillment of new life, new hope, the propagation and continuation of every species on the planet…mankind, animals, elementals, insects plants, birds, trees, and so on the list goes, as well as the continuation of the elements and our world itself.
All look to and depend on Spring to fulfill “The Promise”…The Promise that life will continue; that we will be “renewed”; that winter’s cold, darkness, death, and dormancy have been conquered yet another year; our species will propagate and guarantee our existence for the future; and that food, natural resources, light and energy from the sun will be replenished and nourish our planet yet again.
Since rebirth is, most likely, the major responsibility of Spring, nature, including mankind, reproduces. Trees sprout new growth promising the coming of flowers, nuts, and fruits. Animals and birds give birth to young ones to continue their lineage and the Element of Water mixed with the Element of Air send water, in the form of rain, down from the sky to the earth to nourish all that is reproducing, thus, contributing to the continuation of the magical ring of life.
Spring is a very busy time of The Wheel of the Year for our Creator, the Goddess (Mother Nature), the Planet, and all that live upon the earth. Timing is critical. If leaves and new growth on trees sprout too soon, a late Spring frost might kill the growth and/or the tree itself, thus, preventing the tree from producing new fruits, nuts or flowers. If birds’ eggs hatch too soon, chances are they will not survive. Plus, they need the Elements of Earth, Water, and Air to supply them with juicy worms and other insects for food, plenty of water to drink, and air currents to be optimal so eventually they will conquer the daunting task of flying and soaring through the skies.
All must be in harmony and in sync for Spring to fulfill her responsibility. All must work together as one… for, in truth, we are all one…one with the Creator or Goddess and one with each other...each other being very living creation upon this planet. For we all are connected to and part of “The Source” of everything and must live and work in harmony to assure the continuation of all that inhabits our planet, our home.

With Spring on its way and nature starting to send up its new life, hope grows within us and reinforces the belief that life is renewed once again.
For me, proof of nature’s rebirth is birds. Birds gather up the remnants of winter’s kill and fashion these dead things into beautifully woven nests of twigs, broken branches, dead leaves, and such and make cradles, safe and warm, for the new life they will bring into our world. From death, they make life come anew.
I was thinking these thoughts when I created this assemblage of a beautiful little blue bird guarding her eggs nestled in a nest accentuated with real acorn caps from my enchanted yard, in addition to other nature related items. The acorn caps and the leaves are dabbed with glitter to signify the magic and mystery of new life and rebirth.

Delonix regia is the main indication of King of the seasons, Spring. This flower has become available now. So, spring has come in Bangladesh.

I feel so lazy, can't do a thing
My mind is hazy just like a smoke ring
I think of nothing but lying in the hay
I got the spring fever blues
The sun is shining right in my room
I feel like I was the man in the moon
I'm riding high on the clouds way above us
I got the spring fever blues
I wish that spring were back again
To satisfy my lazy yen
I miss those days of dreaming
If birds were nestlin' in the trees
And leaves were swayin' with the breeze
My heart would keep on beaming, who-o-oh
I hope the south wind blows past my door
And leaves me someone whom I can adore
I think of nothing but love and romance
I've got the spring fever blues, I mean
I've got the spring fever blues
One of the first spring flowers in my garden so I just had to take a photo of it.... a snowdrop... a very apt name as there was snow on the hills yesterday!
Scenes of spring- yep, there are indeed lots of dandelion pictures out there, but despite the havoc these seeds wreak on our lawns, they sure are pretty. This one was particularly nice as the top seeds had flown off, allowing a view into the center and the radial arms of the soon to be shed seeds.
In a city like Portland with so many flowering trees to enjoy, big leaf maples might go unnoticed. This would be a mistake. While many know them for their namesake 'big maple leaves', the Spring buds and flowers are simply spectacular. The window is pretty short as the buds bloom and new leaves emerge quite quickly, but if you pass by one but sure to stop and have a look.
The flowers that you see weighing down the left side are also apparently edible. You can use them in a host of ways, but sprinkling a salad or soup with tiny flowers or battering and frying whole cluster seem to be among the most popular preparations.
This trio of buds was found alongside a balcony outside the building I work in, probably about 20 feet off the ground. Perfect height for some close up photos and to harvest a few for the Spring menu.

..back to the type of photo that got me into the world of photography.. flower shot :)
The composition is probably a bit "too noisy". Well, the daisy will be "very noisy" indeed when spring arrives in 17 days.
