This was where I took the photo of the birdbath, see photo below. It was a beautiful, splendid day and the ducks and geese were enjoying the day on the pond.

Warm-up your winter day with this photo of the fishing pier on the east side of Big Creek Lake taken just before sunset last summer. Construction started in autumn of 2023 and it opened in the spring of 2024. A moment in time, showing people enjoying summer splendor at it’s best.

End of the Fish Hook Trail just outside Redfish Lake Lodge. Nothing on the description of the hike prepares you for what you encounter. Across this high meadow of scrub brush there is this vista of the gorgeous Sawtooth Range. And just for kicks, there is an active beaver pond complete with dam and spillway (future pictures) to give it a wonderful high country feel.
Just after Sunrise in the soybean fields. The foliage is starting to turn filling the fields with Autumn Color. Thanks for the look and have a great week ahead.
After trading trains with the CSTN in Clare, the ONTN is making good time back south amongst the strong fall color that lines the tracks. Before returning to Owosso, the train will make a stop in Ithaca and work in the plant for the first time, Zeeland Farms, which now, is probably the railroad's biggest customer by car count.
“Life's splendor forever lies in wait about each one of us in all its fullness, but veiled from view, deep down, invisible, far off. It is there, though, not hostile, not reluctant, not deaf. If you summon it by the right word, by its right name, it will come.”
Franz Kafka
A panoramic to show the splendor in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. This was taken in the Spring, 2018.
We took a hike in the Kettle Moraine Forest today. The day started out cold (in the upper 30’s) but ended up getting to 79 degrees by the end of our hike. We saw our first dragonfly of the year and were able to sit outside on our deck in shorts and tees for the first time!
The young and very active priest of our village recently brought up piles of sacred icons dating from the 16th to the 18th century and made the bold decision, if God permits, to slowly restore them all.
First, as was natural, the holy icon of the patron saint of our village, Saint holy virgin martyr Paraskevi, was chosen.
The short period of time in which the money was found and its rapid and at the same time very successful restoration are undoubtedly due to the parsimony of the embassies illustrated in it to the Savior Christ.
The photo is from her holy litany at the panegyrical vespers in honor of the Saint on July 25, 2020 as she managed to be present with all the new splendor in this year's celebration during which this sacred hoarding became the central icon of Η. Church of our village (Νomi of Trikala).

What though the radiance which was once so bright
Be now for ever taken from my sight,
Though nothing can bring back the hour
Of splendour in the grass, of glory in the flower;
We will grieve not, rather find
Strength in what remains behind...

How the leaves change colors?The chlorophyll breaks down, the green color disappears, and the yellow to orange colors become visible and give the leaves part of their fall splendor. At the same time other chemical changes may occur, which form additional colors through the development of red anthocyanin pigments.
Time will bring to light whatever is hidden;
it will cover up and conceal what is now shining in splendor.

That was a great occassion for taking an autumn themed look-up picture. I was just looking for something interesting on the coast of the Lake-Velencei and finally found it over my head.
