Last Sunday, I spent the entire night in Guilderton chasing a few planned shots—this one being the first. A comet over the ocean, but it came with plenty of challenges: extreme winds, no chance of tracking the sky, and sea spray constantly fogging up my lens.

To stay ahead, I set up everything in advance—one camera for the foreground and another one mounted on a star tracker for the sky. The tracker setup went straight into the car, ready to go. Meanwhile, I framed the foreground shot next to the rocks (barely spotting the comet at this stage), lit the scene with a small light, and set the camera to shoot continuously. Then, I climbed onto the rocks, struck different poses to find the best composition later with minimal motion blur.

Next, I drove 100m to higher ground, away from the ocean, where I had a clear horizon. The wind was relentless, but luckily it was blowing south while the comet was setting in the west. So, I used my car door as a wind shield, waited for darker skies, and took a few shots to stack later.

The final result is this composite/blend of comet C/2024 G3 Atlas—which is now a ghost of itself. The nucleus has disintegrated, leaving behind multiple tails that are slowly fading away.

Spent time in Guilford chasing osprey to no avail. I wanted to hit Madison beach before the last of the light was gone. It was a tame sunset tonight but still lovely.

I spent a few days In Suttons Bay, Michigan last week and could not resist taking this pink poppy's portrait. I really, really wanted to pick it, take it back to cottage, and do my macro thing out of the way of wind coming off the bay. But I didn't. This is the only shot that came out relatively sharp-ish. But I rather like the dreamy quality.

Spent a while at Greatham Village nr Liss.Whilst taking a series of shots around this church,my eye caught this view through the boundary hedging.Thats different,i thought, can only be seen this time of year!! Snap !!

We spent day 2 of our Dolomites trek traversing the Sexten Dolomites with their emblematic Tre Cime di Lavaredo/ Drei Zinnen peaks, seen here at sunset. You cannot actually see the three separate peaks from this angle. At one point the huge number of visitors enjoying easy access to a high Alpine environment through a toll road and public transport to the Rifugio Auronzo distracted from the experience we were seeking. However, within an hour's walk you can usually leave the crowds behind and get back to being immersed in this awe inspiring environment.

We spent the last week travelling in our new van, there she is in the distance parked near to Llyn Brianne in mid Wales. We were walking up to the level of the dam....

Time spent in prayer will yield more than that given to work. Prayer alone gives work its worth and its success. Prayer opens the way for God Himself to do His work in us and through us. Let our chief work as God's messengers be intercession; in it we secure the presence and power of God to go with us. (Andrew Murray)

I spent the past week north of Huntsville Ontario at a cottage on Loon Lake. With a pair of nesting loons not far away, I would have to say the lake was aptly titled. I would have to say that the Loon is one of my favourite birds. I just love their feather pattern, their deep red eyes and their beautiful call.

A couple mornings while there I headed out on the kayak with camera in tow (praying all the while that I didn't upend myself) and headed out to where the loons were nesting. Saturday morning turned out to be the nicest day by far as the sky was clear and the lake was as smooth as glass.

Here is the first shot from that trip...Hope you enjoy.

Spent an evening at Sand Point with fellow Flickr member Dom W

Had about an hour without rain, not great conditions to be honest but enjoyable all the same!

Spent a great night playing below the cliffs of Seaford head. The sky started off really dull , so I made a few stone balances. Just as I finished this one a bit of pink started to light up the sky, so charmer by Kings of Leon it is. A charming gentle end to the day.

I spent a few hours on Canebrake Ecological Reserve on my way to Kern River Preserve. I was happy to get some images of this Coyote. I ended up getting some Bobcat images at Kern River Preserve. Two great protected nature preserves.

Visit some time if you can.

Thank you for viewing, faving or commenting on my images, have a great day!

Spent another enjoyable day at Bruntingthorpe yesterday. Lightnings rule!!

Spent the weekend in the beautiful Kanab Utah during the Kanab Utah hot air balloon festival. Their was a lot of cool balloons, a street street fair, with bands and food, and even a paper lantern lighting. Was great, I want to make it an annual happening for me.

Spent some time at one of my ultimate favorite places - Emerald Lake, BC. While its emerald-colored waters shine in the summer, the enchanted winter wonderland makes it equally stunning this time of the year.

Fun Fact - Emerald Lake was featured on the back of the 1954 Canadian $10 note. :)

Happy New Year to my followers and biggest fans! <3

Spent a peaceful Saturday on the North Fork Sol Duc river in Olympic National Park. Another amazing Olympic National Park river valley.

We spent the last days of 2016 and the beginning of the new year in the north of Slovakia, where we hiked and skied for 2 days. There was 50 cm of snow and the weather was really cold so it was ideal for winter sports. New Year's Eve was quite unusual though: as we reserved the room at the last moment, we really had no choice and it turned out that the restaurant of the hotel would be closed for the public that night. We had to persuade the owner to prepare us some pizzas so that we could eat them in our room :) Then we drank all our champagne and watched the fireworks from the street. No party this time!

I spent a few days up on the Blue Ridge Parkway last week. We missed the Rodadenrums by a week. The weather was so much cooler than here in Florida. It was really nice but we did have a lot of fog, which moves in quickly and was very thick. I'm not really used to driving in those weather conditions and found it challenging. It can add a great element if you are in the right place at the right time.

This is the Tanawha Trail Foot Bridge at the Rough Ridge pullout on the Blue RidgeParkway outside of Boone, N.C./Grandfather Mountain.

I spent my afternoon coffee break photographing some of the cute mushrooms I'd found in a planter box just outside our corporate HQ. I used my body / a diffuser to bring them into the shade, and the light filtering through a lavender bush made for a nice background.

Burnside, Christchurch, New Zealand.

I spent 5 days in Central Oregon. I visited this beautiful lake twice. The first time I tried to photograph Milky Way, but the Moon rose very early, and it was very windy. I came there two days later. The weather conditions were so much different. The Milky Way was so clear. I really enjoyed watching the starry sky.

That was one shot f/2.8 , ISO 6400 at 25 sec.

I spent this past week riding my bike on the "Tour de Nebraska," a 216 mile route through the beautiful sandhill region of north central Nebraska. Minimizing weight meant taking the lightest camera I had, my iphone. We enjoyed the wonderful prairie, oak savannas, and ponderosa pine forests of the region, as well as the Niobrara River valley.

The ride was given the impromptu title "Headwind Tour" as we battled the wind most of the way, despite doing a loop. We also coped with a couple of rainy mornings, but the temperatures were mild compared to the expected norms.

This scene was around 20 miles into the final day's ride, with a rest stop at the Sparks General Store. The morning rain and clouds are clearing out, though the wind was picking up out of the southeast, the direction we were headed.

Spent a delightful morning, in Melbourne, with some of the members of the Famous Flickr Five+ Group last Saturday.

I'm taking a short break from Flickr for a few days.

Thanks for all your visits, kind comments and faves, very much appreciated.

Spent a few hours up on the hills today, looking for Dartfords. Very windy up there...

I think I found six, they were very mobile, so maybe just four.

Spent a day with friends on Thursley Common yesterday with this rather famous Cuckoo

Spent the day at Oak Alley yesterday and there were a whole lot of people there. Such a beautiful day. We missed the azaleas in bloom though. Thanks to my assistant for holding the ball.

Spent the morning at St Aidans RSPB near Leeds, observing this little beauty. Kingfishers are so captivating to watch – their quick, darting movements and those brilliant colors! It’s always a treat when they decide to perch in front of me for a moment.

It ain’t over ‘til it’s over. Spending several years in the PACNORWEST taught me to never let a little rain ruin your day. After driving an hour and a half to the Oceanside shoreline through rain and fog, we arrived just in time to set up for the 9PM sunset. Just as I was beginning to give up hope, the dark and dreary sky transformed into a beautiful pink just long enough to get a couple long exposures in.

I spent years of my life holding on to things,

I never should kept, full of hatred.

Spent a week in magical Ladakh, India. It was a truly eye-opening experience for me. Beautiful landscape with mountain-top monasteries. Beautiful people who are made stonger by the harsh environment.

Picture taken in Pangong Tso, Ladakh, India. One of the hilights of the trip.. the drive to this lake is just simply amazing with huge mountains flanking the motor way. The last scene of the movie, the 3 idiots, was film here. it is a saltwater lake in the Himalayas situated at a height of about 4,350 m (14,270 ft). It is 134 km (83 mi) long and extends from India to Tibet. 60% of the length of the lake lies in Tibet.

I spent a lot of time on the deck of the ship watching skies in Svalbard. Weather fronts come and go almost by the minute at these latitudes. And, strange as it may seem to say, the spectacular mountain landscapes are all around and almost a given. What changes, and what makes a strong photograph, is more often than not the sky.

Spent six days with perfect weather in Rovinj and this sunset is from the day of arrival on the 26. of December

Spent some much needed time in Nature a couple days ago, the first time since our current situation hit. Doing my best to respect stay at home orders. This was close to home, and I didn't come anywhere near the few other people I saw on the trail. Being cooped up for so long seemed to make my senses more aware of colors and smells in the woods. I hope everyone is staying safe out there.

I spent a bit of time this morning trying to capture Swallows feeding on the lake (flies). They are like rockets. There were Barn and Tree Swallows but this one is a Northern Rough-winged Swallow. I debated about leaving the reflection in - it doesn't seem real or natural because it is not a mirror image, but this is exactly how it appeared. I was actually shooting a bit down on the subject, plus he was banking. In any case, this was one of the sharper shots I got.

The beauty in fallen or spent flowers, in this case Frangipani flowers from a nearby park.

Spent this morning re-seeding lots of my lawn. Came home to find my friendly chipmunk devouring the grass seeds like he hadn't eaten for weeks!

Spent the day out with my sister Sharon who lives in Anchorage. We went down to the Portage glacier area. The road and trail to Portage glacier were closed, but we had a great visiting and saw a lot of other interesting sights at the recreation area stop and at Byron Glacier which is in the same area. Spent a Sunday afternoon on a photo shoot underneath and around three very impressive, and threatening storm cells. It was quite the show. This is facing to the southwest.

I spent most of today watching the snow fall (the third of the season) and the yardbirds do their thing. This is the same male anna's that's been here since before Thanksgiving. He always uses the same perches, and if I look at one in particular, just as it's getting light, I can see him coming drowsily out of his torpor. A few days ago I slept in and found him trying to get a drink from a frozen feeder, which made me feel more than a little guilty. Fortunately I had a good one ready to put out, and he about landed on it as I hung it up.

There's also at least one female in the area. Sometimes he tolerates her, but he usually chases her off. In this photo he's looking right at her, and about to chase her off, although I'm never really sure whether his intentions are hostile or amorous. A couple of times I've seen him land right next to her and extend his body toward her and parallel to his perch in a gesture that I don't understand, but she does not seem to find threatening. Anna's hummingbird, backyard Olympia.

We spent a long weekend in Ely, Nevada. We photographed the Milky Way over the Ward Charcoal Ovens, and a windmill in the desert. We walked the city of Ely photographing the unique buildings, and we photographed the trains, the buildings and the people at the Nevada Northern Railway Museum
