Self-portraiture is a singular in-turned art. Something eerie lurks in its fingering of the edge between seer and seen.

Rocky shores and windswept trees are common to the islands of Lake Nipissing in Ontario Canada. Photoshop for reflection
Large burl on old beech. Apparently this gall is caused by the bacterium Agrobacterium tumefacienscrown.
Spat over Napo's empty food bag. Goshii wanted it, She got it, Or maybe he made reference to the old bag!
A boat decaying on the shingle beach in Aldeburgh, Suffolk. The title is inspired by the Joy Division song - my personal favourite.

Maybe its my height or maybe its my inner girl, but heels have always been the quintessential piece to my wardrobe. I don't feel complete without the 'right' pair of shoes.
Some people say heels make them feel powerful and others say sexy. For me, I feel complete and confident and I wear them because of that. The fact that they make me a little taller, just another bonus...almost can reach the top shelf in the cupboard. :-)
This particular spot, at Ruakura in Hamilton, in the closest railway line to where I live. Naturally, that means it is also the most visited, and thus the most overused. In the never ending search for something other than a plain wedge shot, I have found myself trying some strange things...
As I have shown in some of my previous photos, I quite like the depth of field style, a bit like this. So, I have tried nearly every sign, rock or flower around here to find something, anything nice. The best I've gotten so far is the image above, which has a nice low perspective that is different to many of my other attempts.
A shame about the boring (but not surprising) DL, but otherwise a decent shot, I think.
The continuing story of the wasp nest in my fence. All three of them are touching antennae and communicating: "Hey let's get that guy with the camera - he's getting a little too close." They didn't attack and I still maintained my delicate relationship with the colony. I knew if I took enough shots I'd get something cool like this trio.
They remind me of a tri-blade propeller on an airplane.

2 days ago we drove through the mountains in Norway in our Audi Q4 50. We climbed up over 1400m 3 times and down twice. Third time up we arrived at our cabin. Car is loaded with 2 adults and a dog with gear for hiking 2 heavy ebikes and cart for the dog. Total distance driven 210 kms At times my consumption was showing 78 kwh per 100 kms going up extrememly steep roads but average consumption for the trip was 19 kwh per 100 kms. Started the day at 100% battery and arrived with 40%. The bikes on back did not make much difference in consumption. My guess would be one more kwh per 100kms on this trip. Don't listen to people who claim EV's don't work
We all love taking photographs., but the more shots we take the more difficult it is finding something new to take
Well I'd never seen or photographed a Mountain Hare before!
Thanks big Bunny!
This was to be my first loon portrait of the season. As you can see, the subject had other ideas. This represents his rapid submersion at just the moment of the click. Since I have about 629 similar portraits of the loons, I thought it was due time to post one. This one actually resulted in some interesting (to me) contrasting lines with the ripples in the water and the reflection of the shoreline. So my vanishing subject actually created an abstract of sorts with his departure. And vanishing they are, in that once they dive, it is entirely likely that they will not resurface at any point in the immediate vicinity, their distances underwater on their fishing forays remarkable.

Lyrics
Tears will leave no stains
Time will ease the pain
For every life that fades
Something beautiful remains
We're living in a world of stars and dust
Between heaven and all that surrounds us
We're travelers here, spirits passing through
And the love we give, is all that will endure
Hey now, what we had is gone
But I still remember you
Just like a rose after the rain
Something beautiful remains
Tears will leave no stains
Time will ease the pain
For every life that fades
Something beautiful remains
Now the darkness falls
The sun is going down
One by one, the stars are coming out
Tide comes in, washes footprints from the sand
As one day ends, a new day must begin
Hey now, though we are apart
You're forever in my dreams
Hey now, love is lost again
What you gonna do about it?
What you gonna say?
Something beautiful remains
Tears will leave no stains
Time will ease the pain
For every life that fades
(Something) something beautiful remains
And you wonder sometimes how you carry on
When you've lost the love the you knew
But it's alright, alright
To your own heart be true
Tears will leave no stains
Time will ease the pain
For every life that fades
(Something) something beautiful remains
Tears will leave no stains (tears will leave no stains)
Time will ease the pain (time will ease the pain)
For every life that fades (for every life, for every life that fades)
Something beautiful remains (something beautiful remains)
Tears will leave no stains (something beautiful)
Time will ease the pain (time will ease the pain)
For every life that fades (every life that fades)
Little Blue Tit in the garden tree and it looks very interested in something up there . You never know where or what these little characters will do next so you cannot plan a shot but only capture something they get up to as it happens .
