Bolero for summer. Now I needed a fireplace to warm me with this. Hopefully sun will do the job next summer. I love this colour and it goes with my favorites; brown and green.
Pattern is my own, sleeves were inspired by Zephyrstyles Rosted root.
I used some old old yarn: palermo (100% cotton), 180 g and 3.5 mm needles.
Something happened at the Bricktown Haunted Warehouse. There are tons of police, fire, and EMSA personnel here and it is temporarily closed.
October Photo a Day: 11 October
My only regret about today's theme is that it's no longer summer here, because I would have very happily gone dragonfly hunting. They're my favorite bug to chase and photograph, and they look amazing up close. Sadly, we're well beyond the days of dragonflies here, so I had to settle for something else. My first plan was to photograph a flower that's still blooming on my balcony, despite the nights recently when we've had hard freezes (these flowers also survived the terrible drought and heat wave we had all summer long). One of the shots came out all right, but I just wasn't happy with it. Then I noticed this maple leaf. It was a much better subject, so this is what I present to you for something close up.

Old farm (?) houses in Shenzhen. Taken while standing on tippy toe to hold my camera high enough to peek over the wall on the street. Since the yahoo map is rubbish, here's a link to the google map of the location: Google map of old chinese houses

This was my "dream shoot" - you know when everything goes better than you expect and you could just keep shooting for hours?
Images from Katrina and Andy's photoshoot.
We travelled for over an hour to get to Gweedore in Ireland. Katrina and Andy will be getting married here next year and we are so excited about going back. Their hotel is so quaint and typically Irish, the church is cool in an oldschool little village sort of way and landscape! there is enough landscape there for us to photograph at least 10 couples and we'll still miss something! The beach has an old shipwreck right bang in the middle of it and I just hope that the tides are out when we return. This shoot was almost ruined by the weather but thankfully Katrina and Andy were fantastic! they even took their shoes off and ran into the water! It was freezing!!! Anyway the rain poured and we still left with a big smile on all our faces so hopefully these photos show just how much fun we had and how much in love they were.

Ah, something positive to say at last... look at the view through the window (just ignore the curtains!)
Taken in Sanger Tx on the night of June 20th as a severe thunderstorm approaches from the west. Again, these are lightly edited in Adobe lightroom just to bring out some of the detail of the clouds. The storm rolled in at sunset and you can see its progression thru the frames. This is part of the 25 pictures I chose from the original 300 I took that night.
