This was my "dream shoot" - you know when everything goes better than you expect and you could just keep shooting for hours?

Something you don't see every day, a Virginia Rail Chick. This small little chick is surprisingly quick, and hard to focus on as it darted thru the grass. I got lucky. Ridgefield WLR, WA. 2020

A man is like a fine wine. He starts out raw as grapes and it's a woman's job to stomp on him and keep him in the dark until he matures into something she'd like to have dinner with

In many ways, Toulouse looks like Barcelone. Here is an example of what the streets look like.

Taken in Sanger Tx on the night of June 20th as a severe thunderstorm approaches from the west. Again, these are lightly edited in Adobe lightroom just to bring out some of the detail of the clouds. The storm rolled in at sunset and you can see its progression thru the frames. This is part of the 25 pictures I chose from the original 300 I took that night.

the start of something crazy

Tale of Two Cities collaboration! This was with Sam Judson and it's cross processed to boo. Sam shot a roll of velvia 100 ISO slidefilm at 200 ISO speed in Newcastle, and rewound it and posted it down to me. I took photos over the top of it in London, and around the river and docks in Bristol. I then got it processed as if it was normal film, for that cross-processed joy. Not sure that the whole double exposure thing works on x-pro - my images seem a lot more strong than Sam's - and it's not v colourful, but I still like them...

I love this project more and more - if anyone else wants to do this, join the group, and give me a shout....

Something about old, run down libraries makes me want to take photos....

Sunday August 30th, 2009 - Starting from Kyoto Station, we took the train to Nara Station. Kyoto is like going back in time, especially from Tokyo, and Nara, unbelievably, is like going back in time even more. Our tour guide for the day was an English speaking woman from Kyoto, who explained that many people say the capital cities have not changed much since the time that they were the capital of Japan. For Nara, that time would have been between 710 - 784, only 74 years. And indeed, with all of the amazingly kept old buildings, and tame wildlife (such as the deer!), Nara is perhaps one of the most unbelievable places in the World, it is like being in a fairytale. We explored the city all on foot, with the help of our guide. She was worth every yen (2000 JPY per person for the day), and explained so much about everything that we would have never known without her!

Photo: People couldn't help but notice this doe looks very pregnant. But, that is very strange, as it is very late in the season... and not supposed to be happening!
