Mario is a potter in the group of artist that I've been working with recently. Here he is demonstrating at the art show we had recently.
Pottery is another passion of mine. I really enjoy throwing on the wheel. It's rather addicting. There's something about the centrifugal rotation and the pull of the clay that is mesmerizing. Watching Mario made me want to dive back into it!

I gave a bit of my own twist on the block, but made sure to keep the curves really gentle, like Alyssa suggested. I think it would have been easier with a smaller rotary cutter. Otherwise, it went surprisingly well! There is a little bit of breath holding while you sew and before you open the seam, wondering if everything matched up ok!
We saw Something Rotten in 2018, and it was the first musical we saw as season subscribers to our local theatre.
I loved it. As a lifelong fan of musicals, I appreciated all of the wink-wink, nudge-nudge references to the great musicals of the past. But I especially loved looking over and seeing Nick smiling…turns out you don’t need to have a working knowledge of musicals to enjoy this one.
In the story, a pair of playwrights (the “Bottom” brothers) are trying to get the edge on Shakespeare who is the theatre rockstar of the era. They visit a soothsayer who predicts that Shakespeare’s next big hit will be titled something like “omelette” or “ham omelette” (the vision is blurry). He also predicts that the next big thing in theatre will be musicals. The brothers set out to write Omelette: The Musical while Shakespeare goes on to write Hamlet. The egg musical flops and you all know what happened with Shakespeare’s play (which includes the line: "SOMETHING is ROTTEN in the state of Denmark" — clever).
About the Ornament
I coated the ornament with white pearlescent powder, and the bow is made from a red/green double faced satin ribbon tied with a red polka dot ribbon. (I used a green satin ribbon for the hanger.)
I tried to stay true to the illustration styling from the original playbill art for both the title and back design on this ornament.
For the back, I isolated one of the stage performers illustrated on the playbill (I think it’s supposed to be Nick Bottom, but I could be wrong) and made him into a line drawing..then I threw a rotten tomato at his feet.
for Me Again Monday ~something blue
not sad, just tired.
If people ask me my favorite color, I always say green.
But the dominant color in my world is actually blue.

I have no idea what this is. It looks like a decapitated horse. It must be some kind of a heating gas distribution control system.

Whilst it is something of a myth for games based on Movies to be any good.
The Lion King was one of several "Disney" based exceptions to the rule.
If I was to think of the Lion King solely as a platformer, then I guess it wouldn't be the most original 2D platformer in an era of so many others...
...but it could only be excelled by having such an amazing film to be modelled on. Let's face it...The Lion King Disney film is a masterpiece. So to be able to play as Simba through his growing up years, and relive moments of the film, all to the sounds of some of the great songs from the movie (albeit in midi version), it just all came together to provide a great Lion King experience.
However! That being said...people could very much be mistaken into thinking the Lion King would just be some sort of easy going game for kids.
Oh no...
The Lion King was tough. Like super tough! In fact until more recent years I'd never even bothered myself to get that far into the game, simply because I'd sort of made peace with the fact the game played me, not vice versa.
Still. Challenge is a good thing. If you still have this game, there's a good chance you still need to get round to completing it...I know I do :)

Canela brought along this lovely Butterfly pin from our late-grandmother's jewelry box... soething to remember her by, and possibly a new family tradition?
I practice every day to find some clever
lines to say
To make the meaning come true
But then I think I'll wait until the evening
gets late
And I'm alone with you
The time is right
Your perfume fills my head
The stars get red
And oh the night's so blue
And then I go and spoil it all
By saying something stupid
Like I love you
I love you...

Something in the way she moves
Attracts me like no other lover
Something in the way she woos me
I don't want to leave her now
You know I believe her now
Somewhere in her smile she knows
That I don't need no other lover
Something in her style that shows me
Don't want to leave her now
You know I believe her now
You're asking me will my love grow
I don't know, I don't know
You stick around now it may show
I don't know, I don't know
Something in the way she knows
And all I have to do is think of her
Something in the things she shows me
Don't want to leave her now
You know I believe her now

I found a very similar composition to this one a few weeks ago and was pleased with the shots I got then. So I couldn't resist another try when I discovered this nice arrangement on Sunday, the banded snail was a wee bonus. I just love the colours and markings of the decaying Butterbur at this time of year.
My Damselflies of the North Woods book should come this week, and I may try and ID some of these, plus a gazillion I have yet to upload,. Maybe. This was like a consolation prize as there was not much happening in the butterfly or dragonfly departments today.

".... If you can't wake up in the morning
'Cause your bed lies vacant at night
If you're lost, hurt, tired or lonely
Can't control it, try as you might
May you find that love that won't leave you
May you find it by the end of the day
You won't be lost, hurt, tired and lonely
Something beautiful will come your way...."

Thank's to banlon1964 for this translation in english :)
"An area of the Rue Ordener in Paris has become a true museum of contemporary art.
Every day, new graffiti appears. Most importantly, the artists have created something few arists, even (and especially) those in the artists "squats", dare to do : free, ephemeral art."

I took this on Thursday morning before work with every intention of taking something better that night. Except that i didn't take anything else. And then i realized that i look sort of calm here...and it was definitely the only part of my day that felt that way, so i wanted to commemorate it. Then i boosted the hell outta the contrast and decided i kinda liked it. So here it is. :)
Today's Random Fact: Sometimes for dinner i eat sauerkraut straight out of the can. With mustard on it. The whole can only has like 20 calories. Plus it tastes good. Is that disgusting?
