"Something happens, and then it goes on happening forever. It can never be changed, can never be otherwise."

Book found on the shelf at Ikea. The title had "Katten" in it, which I know is cat. That, however, is the extent of my Swedish.

Ok, it isn't so much the picture itself that is funny, its the fact than my wonderful husband was so kind as to volunteer to prepare the turkey this year for Thanksgiving. Neither one of us have EVER prepared a turkey before and over the last couple weeks he has finally realized this. Panic has set in! Last week we spent $85 on a turkey fryer and oil and had an "OK" turkey. This week we invested $180 in a smoker! Not sure of the results yet but we are about out of time, options and money. And I don't know if I can eat too many more turkeys!

I kinda like "watermelon sorbet" or something for a name... Idk. Anyways, I rehaired her today, actually pretty easy. :D Broke a needle in the process though, and I'm worried that her hair won't be strong enough, but I've given odd plugs a gentle tug and they don't seem to be loose...o:

Oh, and she needs a haircut pretty badly, but I don't want to make a mess so it can wait. :x And I still need to add seeds to her cutie mark but I don't have any black paint and I don't dare use marker. >_>

One of the most elegant country houses in East Anglia.

Truly a hidden gem, the Hall is a place of surprises and delights, a mixture of opulence and homeliness where each room has something to feed the imagination.

Outside, the decorative and productive walled garden is a gardener's delight, providing fruit and vegetables for the restaurant, flowers for the hall and inspiration.

The rolling landscape park with a lake, 211 hectares (520 acres) of woods and waymarked trails is a great place to explore the nature and wildlife on this bountiful estate.

It boasts a fine gothic style library and a magnificent collection of Grand Tour paintings.

The house, its contents, and estate was left to the National Trust by Robert Wyndham Ketton-Cremer, the last Squire of Felbrigg Hall, who died in 1969.

The Walled Garden at Felbrigg Hall is widely renowned as one of East Anglia's finest. Get up close to the double borders and herb beds and really breathe in the scent of lavender, sage and mint. You can find a good many modern surprises within this traditionally laid out garden.

I was pretty much blown away to learn that Tricia got some fantastic deal from some website out of NYC (Tricia, please tell us in your comment what website that was!) to buy this camera and lens that could be called a 'monster cam'. Something like buying a personal truck. Some people buy little ones. And some people buy BIG ones. Or like an Elephant gun. Some people shoot little things, other people need an Elephant gun because they will be hunting Elephants. This is a mega powerful camera and lens set up and I'm secretly lusting after her equipment. I know, I know, we are not supposed to do that, but hey, I'm only human!

After our balloon flight flickr meet we all went to Tricia's house, we checked out her pet chickens and we heard Moira comment that Tricia should know the exact time to the second that it take her coffee to brew because doesn't everyone know that?

So then when the day was done and we were about to leave Tricia says, "Wait! I didn't show you my new camera!" So she goes and pulls out this monster cam and my jaw dropped to the floor, and I still can't believe it! I'm very happy for her to have this mega powerful latest greatest high end Nikon pro DSLR and lens.

Tricia, we really should get together for some more flickr meet photo shoots so we can help each other out on how to use all this expensive camera gear we have. My D300 is VERY similar to your D700 it seems almost impossible to master every possible function and feature these cams are capable of. So if we work together a little bit perhaps we can share some photo taking tips and techniques to get the most out of our equipment.

I'm very often in Temecula on weekend mornings, Sat and Sun at Sunrise so maybe you could come over there. And besides, Temecula is such a scenic area especially in wine country where we do the flights, and especially at that sunrise time of day. I could show you how to get some unbelievable shots I think with your cam and Lens on the launch field at sunrise perhaps.

But never forget that it is the person and the technique they use that gets great shots, NOT the camera.

Studio 26-2 Triangles

The dominant feature, the vanishing point tracks, make the dominant triangle here. I see a large triangle in the bridge underpass and many small triangles in the framework holding the sign in the left of the photo. This is a photo in which I thought about composition while taking the photo, rather than capturing moving animals and cropping afterwards.

"It was the freshest move I've ever seen. It's like he was floating on air." Lol!!

"'Something Good' is a house music song released by Utah Saints in 1992. It was first included as the lead song on a seven-track EP titled Something Good, then later included on the Utah Saints album. 'Something Good' is an aggressive house/trance track which very prominently contains a vocal sample from Kate Bush's 'Cloudbusting' (originally appearing on her 1985 album Hounds of Love). Issued as a single, the track hit number four in the UK Singles Chart as well as number seven on the U.S. Hot Dance Club Play chart. The BBC used the song during its coverage of the Opening Ceremony of the Barcelona Olympic Games of 1992, and was also used for Carlton Television's pre-launch trailer.

In 2008, 'Something Good' was remixed and released as 'Something Good '08'. Bush's vocal sample was re-recorded by West End singer/actress Davina Perera and is still the focal point of the song and a new music video was filmed for the new version. It was released on CD on 17 March 2008. The remix entered the top 10 on downloads alone, and climbed to number eight upon physical release, their first top 20 hit in fifteen years." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Something_Good_(Utah_Saints_song)

During my 2+ hours of being by myself inside Disneyland Paris, I found myself spending some time in their hub area. And I suddenly thought to myself, wouldn't it be fun to take a picture similar to what I would normally take at either Disneyland or WDW but with something missing. Which in this case was the Partners Statue with Walt and Mickey. I spent quite a bit of time waiting for traffic to stop going thru the center of the hub but patience paid off and eventually people stopped taking selfies and i was able to take this. Tomorrow's picture will feature where the partners statue ended up...

I decided to try something different on my bed. I've had the same thing on my bed for 3 years, thought it was time to try something else.

Something I made at 1 in the morning.

Something Else

There's the lush grass again,

the white pines green and mysterious.

And the barn, too, in the distance,

fading red, the color of longing.

The afternoon light is gilding the hillside,

the clouds are moving together,

huge, incipient thoughts,

and you're swooning with desire

wanting the beautiful to lie down with you,

gold-leaf your fingertips and tongue,

green you with fragrance

though you don't know exactly

what you're after, whether it's beauty itself

or whatever lives inside it,

elusive, entire,

peripheral to your wanting—

shadow of wings

you catch obliquely

along the woods' edge,

river that you hear

without listening.

bad quality...yes.. i´m not in form.

i wanted to photograph this old mirror, i love it, whenever i go into

that room (i don´t do that very often) i atomatically turn my head and look

into its direction... i think it´s magic.

i don´t like that, but it was very sophisticated to take it and so i decided to upload it.

i had to cover everything that was reflected with white blankets (don´t worry

dad, i put everything away when i was done...)

it was to dark, i wanted to capture so many details in the room,

the wonderful old wooden floor and the door in the background...

For about the last year - things haven't felt right in my life. Everything feels temporary. How I feel is temporary, what I'm doing with my life is temporary. Like I'm waiting for something. But I don't know what that something is. I'm getting kind of sick of it.

I went to junior high and high school in Vilonia. If you know anything about the town, then you know that means I spent a lot of time on HWY 64 headed to Conway. Especially in the 90s there wasn't much to do in Vilonia. Then I lived in Conway from 1999 until 2006. I consider Conway my hometown. I went today, and I can't even begin to tell you all the memories that flooded back. I know I still live close to Conway, but honestly I rarely go into Conway anymore. Today I went to shoot a bit.

Anyway, my hands down favorite place in Conway is Something Brewing. It opened in 1999 in a small house as a 24-hour coffee shop. (Some older man told me the building started out as a small grocery store back in the day.) The economy and chain stores such as Starbucks moved in, and my little coffee shop started to struggle. They didn't stay open 24-hours anymore. I began to worry my beloved home away from home would close it's doors. The owners started working most (if not all) of the shifts. They changed the setup to be more of a sit-down place and miracle of the mom and pop happened: They made it! Mostly thanks to expanding Hendrix, which threw a lot of business their way. Business is back to my little hole in the wall.

Anyone that is reading this and goes to Conway: Stop in. Have some coffee. It is the best coffee I've ever had. If you don't like coffee have a sandwich or a burger. They have pretty good food. Even if you don't keep going here, throw a little money at a local favorite. The economy is bad again. Your towns have a heart and soul because of places like this. Will you ever look back with fond memories of a Starbucks? I highly doubt it. (If you haven't noticed I'm pretty anti-chain. I've always believed in the mom and pops that make towns great, but after witnessing the history of this place it's a passion of mine.)

The owners are also amazing. They are friendly and care about their customers. During the past 10 years I've had a lot of conversations with one of the owners, Larry. He's a good guy just trying to keep the place open.

So please stop by. Eat, drink, and be merry here as I have for a decade now.

P.S. Sorry I got all ranty. I clearly love this place....

If you don't believe me. Here is an article about my beloved.

April 6, 2010

Something in the way she moves,

Attracts me like no other lover.

Something in the way she woos me.

I don't want to leave her now,

You know I believe and how.

Somewhere in her smile she knows,

That I don't need no other lover.

Something in her style that shows me.

I don't want to leave her now,

You know I believe and how.

my hair looks dreaded, ahh i wish.
