Since the heat has been so blistering this summer, I thought I would post something a little cooler for everyone. This was taken in Cade's Cove last December.

I usually leave the house wearing leggings and my comfortable & sensible flat heeled knee boots! Of course the leggings are tossed in my tote along with the boots which are switched out for a nice pair of stiletto heels when I arrive at the destination!
I put this gold themed ensemble together for an evening out where I met up with a small group for dinner in Crystal City then karaoke & dancing at Freddie's Beach Bar! I had another great evening! ...Then came home & took a few more pix!
My ensemble for the night consists of this lovely gold lycra spandex strapless peplum minidress from greatglam.com, a sheer gold & silver silk scarf from venus.com, my shiny gold lycra spandex leggings from odgirl.com and finished off with my leather look flat soled knee boots from chadwicks.com..

this shot was taken inside the office building of an abandoned chemical plant.
Exploring this location wasn't in the plan although this was one of my most desired and sought after "target". Actually we stopped here just to admire the building's beautiful design.
As we walked around its perimeter, to our total surprise and delight, we discovered an opening: needless to say that in no time we're inside!

I've been playing with some different post-processing techniques, trying some combinations of things I don't normally do. That's the best way I learn, to experiment and play and see what comes out. I went back to some photos I took a few months ago at Antietam Battlefield and used this as a starting point.
This was a shot where I personally liked the composition but the colors and details in the original weren't all that interesting. I originally took bracketed shots (which I normally do for sunrises/sunsets), so I combined the bracketed shots but kept the compression and processing in the middle of the road. Next added a graduated filter, a bit of saturation (a tad more sat added just in the shadows) and boost of vibrance. I re-leveled the exposure then added a touch of "glow" to soften the shot w/o ruining the sharpness and finished it up with a slight vignette.
A bit more work than I usually put in on a shot and it certainly has flaws, but like I said, it's sometimes fun and educational to try things and see where you end up. You never know when you'll discover a new combination of processes that work well and it'll become something you might reuse later.

India's capital Delhi has banned chewing tobacco in an effort to lover the higher incidence of mouth and throat cancer .
Violation can be imprisoned for up to six months and fined up to Rs.300,000/- ($4,500)...News

My NEW 2013 diary, a Christmas present from my 9yo daughter, the first time she's had pocket money to buy me something for Christmas.
Hope everyone has had an amazing 2012 and wishing everyone an even more amazing 2013!
My 2012 photography wise has been a bit of a slump and massive lack of motivation, hoping 2013 will be a better year.
Görväln House is a manor house at Järfälla Municipality in Stockholm County in Sweden.
Görväln House is located at Görväln, a bay of lake Mälaren. The manor is since 2008 used as a hotel and restaurant.
Görväln House is documented from the 1460s, when it was two farms, owned by the Archdiocese of Uppsala. After the Protestant Reformation in 1520, Görväln became a kronohemman, owned by King Johan III until 1571, when Johan III gave it away to the nobleman Antonius de Palma and his family. 1605–61 Görvälns was owned by the Swedish noble family Bjelke. During the Bjelke era the main building was lower on the connector than today. During Adolph John I's years as owner, a new main building was built. Görväln House was the location for the 2011 season of the SVT show Stjärnorna på slottet.
It is now owned by Järfälla Municipality.
