Something happened to this poor film, either during the development, or before it got into my hands, but something's amiss here - red layer got crushed almost to nothing. I contemplated converting it to black & white, but decided against, I found this crushed look quite interesting. Here, a boat leaving Žurkovo beach in Kostrena.
Taken with my Honeywell Pentax Spotmatic F film camera, with Super-Multi-Coated Takumar 35mm F3.5 wide-angle lens, on apparently expired and improperly stored roll of Kodak Gold 200 film, shot at box speed. Scanned with Plustek OpticFilm 8100 dedicated film scanner, edited heavily, massaged as much as possible out of crushed film.
I hung up the new wind sock yesterday, bought it just after Christmas but the snow was too deep around the flag pole to hang it then. Right now it is the only bright spot in the yard!
We have all heard the expression "Let me slip into something comfortable", well i id just that. This robe is so lovely to wear make me feel really special and very feminine.
Something on the right caught their attention and both ballgown ladies are looking in that direction, which reveals their beautiful eyes very well.
The wine cellar at Stone Hill Winery, Hermann, MO. (They actually left me alone down there:)) Established in 1847, Stone Hill grew to be the second largest winery in the United States. The wines were world renowned, winning gold medals in eight world's fairs, including Vienna in 1873 and Philadelphia in 1876. By the turn of the century, the winery was shipping 1,250,000 gallons of wine per year.
The advent of Prohibition in 1920 destroyed the wine industry in Missouri, and the winery's spectacular arched, underground cellars (the largest series of vaulted cellars in America) were used for growing mushrooms. Opened again in 1965 as a winery they are now again producing award winning wines.
A fun, informative tour and some fine wines!
After designing, drafting, & making many different holders...resigned to this being the smartest...as seen on Reyhand, Narcisse, and Charrel. Something else that was perfected when grandad was in his prime.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=VhIB-edOhvY&feature=related Here's the song to listen to.
Song by Rush
"Something For Nothing"
Waiting for the winds of change
To sweep the clouds away
Waiting for the rainbow's end
To cast its gold your way
Countless ways
You pass the days
Waiting for someone to call
And turn your world around
Looking for an answer
To the question you have found
Looking for
An open door
You don't get something for nothing
You can't have freedom for free
You won't get wise
With the sleep still in your eyes
No matter what your dreams might be
What you own is your own kingdom
What you do is your own glory
What you love is your own power
What you live is your own story
In your head is the answer
Let it guide you along
Let your heart be the anchor
And the beat of your own song
You don't get something for nothing
You can't have freedom for free
You won't get wise
With the sleep still in your eyes
No matter what your dreams might be
Keep on putting yourself out there.
Believe.
Be persistent.
Be positive.
Be yourself.
And have fun!
It'll be alright. Trust me.

and then split
all of a sudden
the good stitch undone
how did it happen so
the warmth of my own body
or the furious lust for words
something happened
and then I pulled myself together
because I had to you know

I'm still processing some old photos. This shot was taken in Åre in Sweden. I don't know why I made this so vivid. Hm..
I was preparing to be swallowed up by the storm that way approaching from the rear. While I was shooting the scene below my head was definitely on a swivel and the sky lit up all around. There are sunsets and then there are SUNSETS!!! A person knows when something spectacular is happening because the entire area takes on a sort of red orange glow that seems to surround everything. This was the view in the opposite direction of the setting sun and it was equally impressive to me. I have so many shots of this evening that they’ll never all get posted. Hope you enjoy. Photo taken at El. Franco Lee Park.

Since the heat has been so blistering this summer, I thought I would post something a little cooler for everyone. This was taken in Cade's Cove last December.
Macro Monday Theme: Personal Dreams

From the Wiki:
The Bell Boeing Quad TiltRotor (QTR) is a proposed four-rotor derivative of the V-22 Osprey tiltrotor developed jointly by Bell Helicopter and Boeing. The concept is a contender in the U.S. Army's Joint Heavy Lift program. It would have a cargo capacity roughly equivalent to the C-130 Hercules, cruise at 250 knots, and land at unimproved sites vertically like a helicopter.
Build info:
I took on this build thanks to the Lego Military Annual Build Competition. I have not seen anything like this from other builders, and the idea was novel and intriguing to me.
Swooshability was very important and the finished model does not disappoint. I started with the engines and rotors, then fleshed out an 80% solution. After walking away from it for a few days, I came back with an improved cockpit thanks to -Mainman-. Some more time was spent smoothing out the back before calling it a day. Some versions of the concept have tails and some do not. Eventually, the tailless version won out due to this version appearing in wind tunnel models and newer renderings.
Few dimensions are given. The QTR is described as C-130 sized. Going by C-130J dimensions, this works out to 1/117 scale.
This is the first Lego contest I have entered, so fingers crossed!
mystified alone and feeling super greedy. Might be time too down size.
