It started late in the night and now it is snowing, snowing, snowing ....the second car in front is my car .... ;-) ....
99 7421 is seen about 2 minutes after departure from Schierker station as it starts the final climb to the Brocken. 36 hours previous there had been no snow at this location and it was started to snow heavy as i walked back.
Like the northern lights I completely missed out on the rare appearance of snow down here this week. North Dorset, Wiltshire and even Weston got a dumping but nothing whatsoever on the South Coast.
Still what can beat seeing snow covered mountains? Taken handheld with my 200mm lens which has been repaired (after I slipped on ice and dropped it). I was £500 lighter but I'm getting it back through my home insurance and it's like a new lens. Result!
I bet North Wales is even more beautiful this week but its maybe unlikely I'd be able to get around.
Have a lovely weekend x
A more artistic take on the typical Snow Geese blast-off shot. What do you think?
I had a great time photographing these birds in Richmond, BC recently. I took around 2500 shots over a couple hours. Every so often they would blast off in response to an eagle flying over. It was ar really neat experience to be right in the middle of the chaos!
We finally got two days of milder temperatures. First it snowed then freezing rain. The temperature dropped drastically over night and now everything is covered in ice. Didn't seem to bother this little Downy Woodpecker. Can't wait for Spring!
I would like to thank all of you that have taken the time to view and comment on my photos, it is very much appreciated.

This old neglected farmhouse is on its last leg but still guards the farmer's hay - even has a fence for a HFF!
Lexington, KY
This shot was taken last week, but even though Spring has arrived, we may get more snow tonight!
Up on the mountain 10 minutes up from my house the snow has not melted...now it is snowing here too..
This shot, taken at Big Bend Lake, in Cook County, Illinois, is my first HDR-processed image. It was actually a test shot to try out my new Photomatix software, but I rather like the way that it came out, so here you have it.
It wasn't as close to sunset as it may look here—you can see the sun peaking through the clouds near the top of the tree—but the HDR sure brought out the sky colors, so I went with it. I’ll get better at the HDR with practice, I presume. If you look carefully near the center below the far tree line, by the way, you’ll spot the walker.
First time in my life I standing on frozen earth
The purity, snowing hill without any foot step
Nobody came to here in this cold season
Only white colored shape with blue sky background
I forgot freezing air but the warm in my mind
