Standing In Snow

I was processing this image yesterday with a big smile on my face....this is a beautiful winters image.

Near the village of Leadhills in South Lanarkshire, a group of trees I have shot before but not with as much snow as I had on Saturday. Also had some great light too making for me what is one of my best images.

Hopefully you all like this one:)

Watching huge flocks of Snow Geese swirl down from the sky, amid a cacophony of honking, is a little like standing inside a snow globe. These loud, white-and-black geese can cover the ground in a snowy blanket as they eat their way across fallow cornfields or wetlands. Among them, you might see a dark form with a white head—a color variant called the “Blue Goose.” Snow Geese have skyrocketed in numbers and are now among the most abundant waterfowl on the continent.

Windy March day here ... ushering in soon to be Spring weather. Nice to look back at these winter scenes and know they are behind us once again for three seasons to come.

One of the many patches of snow alongside the track I'm following to the summit of Creag nan Gabhar. This one, to me, looks like a white horse.

Creag nan Gabhar translates as Rocky Hill of the Goat and stands at 834 meters. Not high enough to be a Munro but it is a Corbett.
