Dawn from the cliffs as sunrise approached, until the very top of the sun could be seen.

We looked out the back of the house this morning and saw it looked like it was going to be a wonderful sunrise.

So, quickly dressed after coffee and a quick drive to the cliff tops, and this was the scene that greeted us.

Standby for more sunrise shots.......

Montana Rail Link's 840 Helena Local enters Lombard Canyon during the last light of a perfect Summer evening. This was the third-to-last run of SD45 No. 382. While most of the canyon near the old town site is in shadows, a convenient sliver just large enough to fit the small train in remains. On June 27, 1925, (almost exactly 91 years earlier) a large earthquake with an epicenter a short distance southeast of here, could be felt within an area of 310,000 square miles. Some of the rock face behind the train crumbled in the quake, and ended up on the Northern Pacific right-of-way.

This was some broken glass I spotted lying on a rock by the roadside. The shininess grabbed my attention.

"Sunset Sliver:" A recent fiery sunset is reflected in Goldwater Lake, with just a touch of snow remaining on the hill.

We had a rainy weekend in the Berkshires. The sun tried to come out but it was fleeting at best. We went for our walks in the woods anyway but the picture taking was limited to say the least. The best I could do was this shot of Della as she passed through a sliver of light.

It’s not often we can see the moon šŸŒ™ in broad daylight.

Really pleased to finally get one of these extremely temperamental and apprehensive Great White Egrets close enough for some cool detail...

with just a sliver of light left I was able to grab one shot of Union Pacific empty windmill train SGFAV-03. Leading the train is a pair of CN dash 8's # 2025 and 2109 with 1 of 2 active towers left in the St Louis area in the background. MItchell, IL Jan 3rd 2018

One of BN's SD40-2s assigned to DW&P run-through service leads a northbound up DM&IR's Steelton Hill in far western Duluth in early spring 1988. This area has changed recently with the realignment and double tracking of this route, CN's primary mainline to Chicago from western Canada. The conductor appears to be yawning in anticipation of a nocturnal run to Ranier. Another BN SD40-2 is trailing a Peg SD40.

My last shot for #neopantastic week over on twitter. It's been great seeing everyone's images and how we all use the film in different ways. I for one will be using more of it for sure, probably aplit between pinhole and night time exposures.
