The difference is what you choose to fix your eyes on. If you focus on the storm you're in, you'll lose hope. You'll give up. But if you keep your eyes on the sun on the horizon - the rewards for your faithfulness, the deepening of your relationship with your Lord, the better thing God will give you in place of what you have lost - then there will be joy in this journey. So, keep on driving. Drive carefully and look down the road at the beauty that's on ahead. For just like us on that snowy, stormy day, you'll soon be celebrating a break in the clouds and a day that is flooded with glorious sunlight. No matter how dark it looks now, there are brighter skies ahead

The Chinese yellow swallowtail (Papilio xuthus), too Asian swallowtail, Japanese swallowtail and xuthus swallowtail, is a yellow and black collered medium to large sized butterfly of temperate east Asia. The Chinese yellow swallowtail is found in Japan, Korean Peninsula, eastern and southern China, Taiwan, the Philippines and northern Myanmar. The butterfly is introduced in Hawaii in 1971.
This species inhabits woodland, suburban gardens, city parks and citrus orchards, at elevations between sea level and about 1000m.
With a wingspan of 6.0 - 11.5 cm the Chinese yellow swallowtail is a medium to large sized member of the family Papilonidae.
Its color pattern consists of a black pattern on a yellow background. The hind wings have a pair of protruding tails which give the butterfly its common name from the resemblance to the birds of the same name. The flight period of the butterfly is from May to August.
This picture was taken in the outdoor aviary of the "De Passiflorahoeve" (Passiflorafarm) in Harskamp, the Net herlands.

Amazilia tzacatl
(Rufous-tailed Hummingbird / Amazilia de cola rufa)
La Ceja, Colombia; Central Andes, 2300 meters above sea level.
The Rufous-tailed Hummingbird is a medium-sized hummingbird. It has a distinctly rufous-colored tail, from which its named is derived, and a bright pink bill. Like other hummingbirds, it feeds on nectar and small insects. It can be highly territorial over feeding areas.
The Rufous-tailed Hummingbird is perhaps the most common species of hummingbird at forest edge and in gardens and cultivated areas from southern Mexico south to northwestern South America.

According to Wikipedia, the Sydney Harbour Bridge is a steel through arch bridge across Sydney Harbour that carries rail, vehicular, bicycle and pedestrian traffic between the Sydney central business district and the North Shore. The dramatic view of the bridge, the harbor, and the nearby Sydney Opera House is an iconic image of Sydney, and Australia. The bridge is nicknamed "The Coathanger" because of its arch-based design. Furthermore, the bridge is ubiquitously known to Sydneysiders simply as "The Bridge". Under the directions of Queenslander Dr. J.J.C. Bradfield of the NSW Department of Public Works, the bridge was designed and built by British firm Dorman Long and Co Ltd of Middlesbrough and opened in 1932. The bridge's design was influenced by the Hell Gate Bridge in New York City. It is also the sixth longest spanning-arch bridge in the world, and it is the tallest steel arch bridge, measuring 440 feet (134m) from top to water level. It was also the world's widest long-span bridge, at 160 feet (48.8m) wide, until construction of the new Port Mann Bridge in Vancouver. There had been plans to build a bridge as early as 1815, when convict and noted architect Francis Greenway reputedly proposed to Governor Lachlan Macquarie that a bridge be built from the northern to the southern shore of the harbor. This and several other attempts failed to produce a bridge. Following World War I, plans to build the bridge again built momentum. J.J.C. Bradfield, Chief Engineer of Sydney Harbour Bridge and Metropolitan Railway Construction, persevered and in March 1924 the contract was awarded to English firm Dorman Long and Co Ltd, of Middlesbrough. The ground, however, had been ceremoniously broken on the project the previous July. The building of the bridge coincided with the construction of a system of underground railways in Sydney's CBD, known today as the City Circle, and the bridge was designed with this in mind. The bridge was designed to carry six lanes of road traffic, flanked on each side by two railway tracks and a footpath. Both sets of rail tracks were linked into the underground Wynyard railway station on the south (city) side of the bridge by symmetrical ramps and tunnels. On 19 January 1932, the first test train, a steam locomotive, safely crossed the bridge. Load testing of the bridge took place in February 1932, with the four rail tracks being loaded with as many as 96 steam locomotives positioned end-to-end. The bridge underwent testing for three weeks, after which it was declared safe and ready to be opened. The bridge was formally opened on Saturday, 19 March 1932.

wow does the quality of this picture look amazing or what? i think soo. anyways. I've come to this conclusion..i loathe the action of assuming. I don't like it when i do it, or when anyone does it. It never makes anything better, so why do it. People that think to much, tend to assume a lot, hehe that's an assumption because i'm sure not everyone who thinks a lot assumes. I really wish that action wasn't possible. I mean you never know what someone is thinking, so you really can't assume.
So today was chill. I made strawberry pancakes(i cut up real strawberries and put them in the batter yum) for lunch.. but extreme, haha, EPIC FAIL. you know why? i put wayyyyy to much baking powder. instead of 3 TEASPOONS i put 3 TABLESPOONS ahaha so my pancakes were uber big and puffy(pictures in comments). It's funny i've made pancakes from scratch and i've never done that, i was so hungry i didn't read the recipe ahah. also wheat flour tastes sooo different then white flour, and cane sugar tastes sooo different then ruglar sugar as well. It's probably because they are both healthier and in their natural state. the pancakes tasted soo cinnamony to me..though there was no cinnamon in them. I was getting a bit flustered and annoyed, and cooking never makes me angry or flustered, i'm quite patient with it. haha. so that was fun. My dad made and yummy spaghetti dinner, though i took out the meat in the meat sauce...they were making fun of me for that. jonel texted/called me. hehe my hibernating baby. so cute. we talked from 5:30pm-almost 8pm:D he is the greatest guy on the planet. the best, funniest, most understanding, great listener, sweet, unique, random, guy i've ever met. he's so laid back, down to earth, and chill..then at times crazy, wild and silly. he's also extremely beautiful, he's so accepting of me and i'm so crazy and silly and hyper on the phone, from lack of talking to him i get all hyper and crazy. it could just be because as the days pass by more and more i'm falling deeper in love with him. he's got me in a spell i sware. i was joking with him telling him"what if i moved back to florida?" *jonel's voice gets all excited*"are you going to?!!" "hehe do you want me too?" *jonel even more anticipated and excited then before*" are you going to?" haha him and adela really really want me to move back. Even though i miss florida like crazy, i don't want to move back, yet. Maybe in two years. idk i love california. though i miss my home even more. it's crazy when you live somewhere, you don't always appreciate it and what it has to offer but then when you move away, you see what it had, and you wish you appreciated it more. I miss florida a lot. It was my home for the past 8 years, and soooo much happened in that little time. My whole life went upside down then back up again in 8 years. It was incredible. though things happened that i didn't like..i will probably always call florida my home..more than chicago..maybe because i only spent a 11 years of my life in chicago and in those 11 years, i really can't remember much. The memories i do remember are vague, yet wonderful. I loved chicago but florida is more of my home now, it's more me. Chicago has changed a lot since i was there, and i don't like what it has become..regardless of no snow in florida i don't think i will ever go back to chicago. AHAH i so got off topic. Ah well. i'm sure you don't want to hear about jonel anyways. ok well i love you life, and jonel, and ee everything. i need to go make my lunch because i'm getting up at 5:45am(eep) to open tomorrow and i work until 3pm. how fun diddy fun. hope jonel passes his test tomorrow. hope everyone had a fun sunday. i know i did. and i love all you flickr friends. you say such nice things to me
Another fantastic wild flower. The size of the flower is from 1-2" ( 2.5 - 5 ) wide, 4 petals, that rises above a long tube, 8 prominent stamens and stigma cross shaped. Its Flowering period is from July to September, and grows on fields and roadsides. The most intriguing fact about this one, is that it is a night blooming biennial that opens in the evening and closes by noon or earlier! Another great fact about this yellow lovely flower, is that its seeds are loved by birds. Hawk moths are among the pollinators of this plant.
My photography is mostly nature. I enjoy macro photography a lot, but it is difficult to decide what a I like the most about this art.
