Bridge Over Troubled Water - Simon and Garfunkel
When you're weary, feeling small
When tears are in your eyes, I'll dry them all (all)
I'm on your side, oh, when times get rough
And friends just can't be found
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down.
If you want to listen to the music, enjoy!
"Sail on silver girl,
Sail on by,
Your time has come to shine,
All your dreams are on their way,
See how they shine.... "

"Fools," said I, "You do not know
Silence like a cancer grows
Hear my words that I might teach you
Take my arms that I might reach you."
But my words like silent raindrops fell
And echoed in the wells of silence"

Oh, and it's alright, it's alright, it's alright
You can't be forever blessed
Still, tomorrow's going to be another working day
And I'm trying to get some rest
That's all I'm trying to get some rest
(from: “American Tune” by Paul Simon)

Simon and Garfunkel's "Concert in Central Park" was Secretary's first CD ("American Tune" is track #9). He saw Henri Cartier-Bresson's photobook "America in Passing" on his first business trip to Bilbao in the display of a bookstore right next to his hotel and simply could not resist.

If you need a friend, I'm sailing right behind
Good morning, Mr. Leitch.
‘Ave you had a busy day ?”
“Prior to this lifetime
I surely was a tailor
(Good morning, Mr. Leitch.
Have you had a busy day?)
I own the tailor's face and hands
I am the tailor's face and hands and
I know I'm fakin'n it
I'm not really makin' it
This feeling of fakin' it
I still haven't shaken it.”

It is easy to forget how intimately wildlife lives with ALL kinds of weather.
Wet and warm days are full of that sweet summer calm we've waited for so long. Here's the small forest located on the other river bank from the city I live. It's so close, the beauty of the sunrise and the foggy woods. Just wake up early and step outside.
Thank you for all the comments and faves, my friends.
Had to step over the fence onto private land briefly for this one..
A hillside in north-west Kent near Froghole.
I've come to talk with you again
And what is happening more and more in our world

Slow down you move to fast ...
Ladybird you go too fast for me! The best my camera will do.
Travelling up and down the bluebell seeds passing the odd bit of decay and spider web.
And i think it's gonna be all right.
Yeah, the worst is over,
Now the morning sun is shining like a red rubber ball.
Simon and Garfunkel
An "awakening" is a moment of clarity in which a new insight or understanding is gained. With this new awareness the experience of life is seen differently, and new possibilities are opened. Changes in patterns of thought, emotions, and behavior occur. An awakening allows the possibility of growth to new levels of psychological and spiritual maturity.
Slow down, you move too fast... You got to make the morning last [...]
Let the morning time drop all its petals on me.
Life, I love you,
All is groovy.

Of changes in their cages,
And the zookeeper is very fond of rum."

Theme: Lockdown Song
From Simon and Garfunkel's "Bookends" album, "A Hazy Shade of Winter".
Lyrics that came to mind and which initiated this for the theme are:
I look around,
leaves are brown
And the sky
is a hazy shade of winter.

BTW, it was a very small leaf with small acorns, a new tree in the yard.
HMM!
We were traveling up the Pacific Coast Highway when i saw this...the title and the song fit in when I saw the picture...I didn't want to crop the fog out. I hope you enjoy the pic, and the song.

... I wish I was ... homeward bound ...
my first upload of an iphone photo (but perhaps not the last). I've been taking some shots that I like with my husband's iphone (when I remember that it actually has a camera to reckon with)! and playing with Instagram is fun, occasionally :) ... I've been very reluctant to use the camera on phones, and I think I'll only use it occasionally, but sometimes it's extremely convenient, and you can do some nice stuff with the iphone. I've definitely been inspired by some of my flickr-friends who do some fantastic things with it

I'm sitting in the railway station.
Got a ticket for my destination.
On a tour of one-night stands
my suitcase and guitar in hand.
And every stop is neatly planned
for a poet and a one-man band.
Homeward bound,
I wish I was homeward bound,
Home where my thought's escaping,
Home where my music's playing,
Home where my love lies waiting silently for me.

Long day. It's funny how near the end of the day (or sometimes before), you actually realize how tired you are. Sleep is a glorious thing. So is that snooze button ;)

Of Silence.
...Silence like a cancer grows
Hear my words that I might teach you
Take my arms that I might reach you
But my words, like silent raindrops fell
And echoed in the wells of silence

Hello darkness, my old friend
I've come to talk with you again
Because a vision softly creeping
Left its seeds while I was sleeping
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
Within the sound of silence
I could swear though, out of the corner of my eye,I could see a vision of....life.

"Let us be lovers, we'll marry our fortunes together
I've got some real estate here in my bag
So we bought a pack of cigarettes and Mrs. Wagner's pies
And we walked off to look for America
Cathy, I said as we boarded a Greyhound in Pittsburgh
Michigan seems like a dream to me now
It took me four days to hitchhike from Saginaw
I've gone to look for America
Laughing on the bus, playing games with the faces
She said the man in the gabardine suit was a spy
I said, be careful, his bowtie is really a camera
Toss me a cigarette, I think there's one in my raincoat
We smoked the last one an hour ago
So I looked at the scenery
She read her magazine
And the moon rose over an open field
Cathy, I'm lost, I said though I knew she was sleeping
And I'm empty and aching and I don't know why
Counting the cars on the New Jersey Turnpike
They've all come to look for America
All come to look for America
All come to look for America"
Simon and Garfunkel 1968
Silence is so truth-telling, so illuminative, that few have the courage to face it.

Sparrow [Simon and Garfunkel]
Who will love a little Sparrow?
Who's traveled far and cries for rest?
"Not I," said the Oak Tree,
"I won't share my branches with
no sparrow's nest,
And my blanket of leaves won't warm
her cold breast."
Who will love a little Sparrow
And who will speak a kindly word?
"Not I," said the Swan,
"The entire idea is utterly absurd,
I'd be laughed at and scorned if the
other Swans heard."
Who will take pity in his heart,
And who will feed a starving sparrow?
"Not I," said the Golden Wheat,
"I would if I could but I cannot I know,
I need all my grain to prosper and grow."
Who will love a little Sparrow?
Will no one write her eulogy?
"I will," said the Earth,
"For all I've created returns unto me,
From dust were ye made and dust ye shall be."
