The southern tip of Canada’s Point Pelee National Park is the farthest south one can go on mainland Canada. Most of the park is either marsh or Carolinian forest, but this small tip extending out into Lake Erie is sand. This beach is constantly changing because of winds, lake currents and water levels.

The season, the light, the snow, and life - they all shift with time. I signed and actually "bought" my house today. I feel the whole world shifting (and no, that's not just the wee toast we had to celebrate.)

The butterfly leaves and the bee arrives.

Thanks to George Pitarys who reminds me today with his uploads, the fact that Action Red once ruled the Baie des Chaleurs part of Gaspésie.

We are located, on this cold Saturday morning, on the old timber bridge supporting the 5e Rand Ouest, a narrow path cut straight thru the deep forest north of New-Richmond and waiting for the first ever windmill blades train over the Société du Chemin de Fer de la Gaspésie trackage.

The average solitude and tranquility of the forest were quickly interrupted by three ALCo 251 prime movers, working full blast against gravity and the 1.4% grade with 6400 foot of train on the drawbar. The old timber bridge was shaken by the deafening exhaust of 3600 horsepower as the head end slowly top off the grade half a mile from it.

From now, the 60 or so mile-long chase have just began.

Windmill blade trains are no longer operating on the SCFG since a shifting in the size of the the blades build LM Windpower plant near Gaspé was now too long to be put on railcars.

SCFG 1819 will become the first of the small RS18u fleet to be painted in the SP Black Widow-inspired paint scheme a few weeks after this picture.

The old bridge over 5e Rang, closed to thru trafic since a few years, was torn down somewhere back in 2021.

But the show remain the same on the Gaspésie railway.

Just above Winnemucca Nevada off US-95 there's are some sand dunes which I've been meaning to stop and photograph. Well, finally did that yesterday, before heading into town for dinner and fuel. I was glad I wear cowboy boots, because I climbed up a steep sand dune next to the highway and the sand was very loose and my boots sank above my ankles until I got to the top. Nice bit of exercise.

Once in a while we feel our lives shift....

Mining Bee - At least I think that's what it is. But my goodness I couldn't believe it could fly away with those pollen sacs so full!

Where nothing good happens after midnight!

After dark, the night shift comes out and gets busy. These are from trail cams on the property. I actually have 5 pictures with cougars walking along with the neighbor's cats hanging from their mouths, 2 different cougars with 2 different cats. Didn't want to post those because it didn't seem right, and that is why people really need to keep their pets in at night. We have a very healthy cougar population here. Beautiful animals!

Here kitty, kitty kitty!

In the first comment box below is a black bear approaching the camera right before he mauled it, LOL. Also a picture of Cav in my bedroom, LOL. Gotta keep em in at night, keep em safe from those big bad kitties

Not of high quality as it’s 15 years old and was taken with an old P&S camera using a long focal length and high zoom, and it has traveled through several storage media. But I still like it and hope you find it interesting.
