London 2012 Olympics 0054

Crisp base, tasty beef filling. The dumplings are only pinched at the top, and left open at each side, a bit like some Japanese gyoza. It's a bit of a pity that the juices from these dumplings leak out onto the plate.

Juicy, beefy burger, hot, crisp chips with fluffy insides. Pretty good for AUD12.

The height of mediocrity. Nothing not to like, but nothing to shout about either.

On the way home the other day, somewhere between Temple and Austin. I thought the clouds looked kind of nifty...

Mi chiedo se valga la pena continuare ad usare la 5D quando il cellulare fa foto così in notturna

Nothing special, unfortunately.

Best beef brisket I've had in a restaurant!

Tender and fall-apart with really good beefy gravy. Would have been nice to have some of the charry edges of the brisket too.

The red cabbage salad was a bit Asian, with fried shallots, chilli and coriander. Could do with a bit more vinegar zing. Or replaced with sauerkraut.

Yummy spicy salami, tasty tomato sauce, good chewy base cooked in a hot woodfired oven.

A tasty, if rather lean burger, with a nice gamey flavour that I find quite appealing. Then again, I am partial to good kangaroo sausages and steaks.

Good Prawn Mee, with a rich, strong prawn flavour, probably made with a pre-packaged paste added to a good pork bone soup. The toppings of frozen prawn and meh charsiu could have been better.

Nice and muggy outside...

Bluetooth receiver used to pair with my SGS3, to remotely release my camera's shutter. Used a cheap audio Cicada receiver - www.amazon.com/Cicada-Sewell-Bluetooth-Music-Receiver/dp/... I removed the casing and used Wegroo's Cable Mod schematic to wire the receiver's output to a 2.5mm output - www.wegroo.com/photoirmote/cablemod/ I sealed everything up with plastic putty, and painted it black. Not the prettiest piece of work, but it has become a reliable module for remote firing. It pairs instantly and has a long battery life. Not sure of the maximum range, but it seems to be about 20-30 feet. Its helped a lot for doing 360 degree panoramas. I've probably taken around 30 panos with this module. I might try to make another neater version in the future.

michaelkwan.com - Setting up my new phone. Is it ironic that I took this photo with a Samsung Galaxy S III?

Nice and muggy outside...
