My first and only video on on flickr.

On our recent family holiday to Canada I ended up taking 100's of photo's with my mobile phone (SGS3). I figured before I archived them off, I'd make a little stop-motion video of our travels :)

Front end loader with a big concrete block

Brioche bun smeared with fried Dijon mustard, topped with a 200 gram grass-fed Queensland yearly MSA certified black angus beef patty, 2 pieces of Swiss cheese, a layer of beer battered fries, 2 more pieces of Swiss cheese, a fried egg and chipotle mayo

Good beefy burger!

That chipotle mayo is very nice, not too rich.

La Ionica chicken wings sauteed in traditional Buffalo sauce, served with a blue cheese dressing and celery sticks on the side. Served with shoestring fries

Tastes pretty good!

Would have been better in a smoky barbecue though.

Photo taken with a Nikon 1 J2 and edited in SnapSeed on a Samsung Galaxy S3...

Great curry laksa, or technically, a Curry Mee (curry noodles), which is similar to a laksa, but topped with curried chicken rather than shredded poached chicken.

The curry soup was nice and spicy, no skimping on the spices here! Loads of lemongrass, star anise, coriander and chilli. Although spicy, it is tempered by enough coconut milk, but not enough to make it overly rich.

Update 2013.05.22: The soup is probably made with pre-packaged laksa spice paste added to a decent stock, but the fragrant curry chicken really makes it rock!

Museums are great for indoor photography. And museums of modern art, especially, have very interesting architecture - vast open hallways, aptly placed columns and windows, and most of all, intricately geometric staircases. Pictured here, we see two complementary views of the staircase at Chicago's Museum of Contemporary Art. As I was reviewing the images later in the day, I thought it would be interesting to present the contrasting views in a single image. Fortunately, these two images seemed to work quite well together.

Chicago, IL.

P.S.: First flickr upload of an image taken with my phone. I couldn't carry my main camera with me that day, but as Chase Jarvis famously said, "The best camera is the one that's with you."

P.P.S.: Just as I uploaded this, I noticed something very similar in my Flickr friend Martin's stream. What a coincidence!

No es una real, ésta es ornamental. Estaba en la parte de arriba del Teleférico.

Not a real one, it's just ornamental.

Para los que no lo conozcais, es un alambique para crear el orujo del pellejo de la uva.

Just for the one not knowing it, it's an still to get the orujo (typical spirit from that zone) from the grapes.

War has casualties. This case baby clearly beat the teddy bear.

Somehow this turned out to be my favorite photo that I took in a long time.

Crunchy batter as advertised and juicy chicken inside. Pity about the tasteless chicken. And the shoestring fries were a bit boring too.

Fried Chicken Burger

Crispy buttermilk battered chicken thigh on a roasted brioche bun with purple pickled coleslaw and Dijonaise mayonnaise. Served with shoestring fries or mixed leaf salad.

Caffe Latte AUD4 Market Lane, hot jam doughnut AUD1.1 American Doughnut Kitchen

A tasty, if rather lean burger, with a nice gamey flavour that I find quite appealing. Then again, I am partial to good kangaroo sausages and steaks.

Nice and spicy today, but seemed a bit thin.

Nothing special, unfortunately.

Su Lin's mum made these light and melting almond shortbreads, boozy Christmas fruitcake and yummy cupcakes with cream cheese frosting!

The 3-tier cake stand is such a wonderful touch!

Good 200g beefy beef burger with a scattering of fennel seeds and a nice creamy brie. Could be better with a stinky blue cheese and a less sweet, more tart beetroot chutney.
