Tech Cocktail Sessions DC was held at Capital One Labs and it was an evening to remember! We learned from our amazing speakers Alexis Juneja - Co-Founder and VP, Strategic Development of Curbed Media and Hooman Radfar - Founder/Chairman of AddThis (formerly Clearspring). After a short hiatus, sketching is back with details of our office building exterior. It was a very windy day but we made it work!
Our second workshop was led by Chris Holt. The topic was Blind Contour and Timed Sketching. We started drawing with an organic object and then moved to drawing inorganic objects on the table. Next we tried blind contour drawing of the person across from you, which was way more amusing than we expected. Lastly we practiced timed sketching of an object on the table to show progression of detail in a given timeframe.

Art presentation with Eric Haze and Lotus Exige. Eric has hand painted a Lotus Exige for this event and it will be auctioned for charity to Studio in a School.
This week we continued to subject ourselves to flashbacks of discomfort and frustration tackling the two-point perspective. As we continue to practice and learn together, the sketches get better and our skills continue to grow. Our goal is to gain confidence with our pen or pencil and create a community around sketching at Dreyfuss + Blackford.
