Premium Whiskey brand Bulleit Bourbon® is bringing a series of live music events to Glasgow and Edinburgh. The Bulleit® Sessions will feature an exciting array of acts from original Blues pioneers to ‘Distorted Rock’ collectives.
· These sessions aim to demonstrate how much of the music we listen to today is inspired by traditional and Electric Blues, a genre whose early pioneers have had a profound influence on many of today’s modern artists.
· Look out for Bulleit® Sessions at locations throughout Glasgow and Edinburgh during April/May/June.

The seventh workshop in our series sought to contrast two methods of subject commonly used in creating art. Whether your work from Reference photos, direct observation, or some hybrid has long been a heated debate. With this workshop, we wanted to explore the various benefits and drawbacks of both methods. Attendees were asked to create two sketches, the first was from a photo reference of a still life scene and the second was from direct observation. During the review at the end of the workshop, the jury remained split on which method they preferred; perhaps this debate will never be settled, but the creative individuals at Dreyfuss + Blackford Architecture will certainly continue to search.

After a short hiatus, sketching is back with details of our office building exterior. It was a very windy day but we made it work!
Creating one-point perspective drawing is the bane of first year architecture student's existence. You may ask: Why would you subject yourself to revisiting that trauma? Communicating by sketch is one of the most visceral and enjoyable experiences we can have with clients and collaborators and a skill that must be honed through practice. Despite our flashbacks to first year, and dread, everyone enjoyed this experience and vowed to continue! Next class: Two-point perspective, twice the dread!
One of four weekly workshops on sketching techniques.

The Brewery Sessions at The Twice Brewed Brew House in Northumberland
Late Bloomers are Gerda Pickin and Cathy Frank - they perform a mix of folk, blues and bluegrass. Singing in close harmony and playing guitar, concertina and banjo, they bring a wealth of experience and passion to their performances.
Stew Simpson - Hadrian's Union front man has been returning to a few solo gigs this summer and will have his solo CD with him.
Host, Ian K Brown, will play his favourites from his summer festival season and will also join Stew for a couple of songs

Strange stage lighting can lead to some almost-abstract portraiture. The very lively Elephant Sessions were hard to "see" in the dark!
