En esta edición de las Picnics celebramos una vez más la ligereza como una virtud: parece que todos los artistas invitados han soltado lastres innecesarios, para mostrarnos que lo importante es un acceso inmediato, sin mediaciones superfluas, en el que poder compartir con nosotros todo eso que parece imposible en otros espacios y contextos. Con obras fáciles de transportar, donde se huye del artificio, se ilumina el detalle y se acaricia lo espontáneo: el placer de hacer lo que haces, la sensibilidad, la sensorialidad y la percepción, poniendo al desnudo los vaivenes y recovecos creativos. Seguimos queriendo haceros participar activamente. Queremos comer con vosotros, bailar con vosotros, cantar con vosotros, imaginar con vosotros, pensar con vosotros, construir con vosotros. Ligeros pero aun así con los pies en la tierra, para no perdernos ni un sólo instante de estos paraísos que queremos convertir en cotidianos.
In this edition of the Picnics we celebrate once more the lightness as a virtue: it seems that all the invited artists have released unnecessary ballasts, to show us that the important thing is an immediate access, without superfluous mediations, in which to be able to share with us all that Which seems impossible in other spaces and contexts. With works that are easy to transport, where you avoid the artifice, you illuminate the detail and caress the spontaneous: the pleasure of doing what you do, sensitivity, sensoriality and perception, exposing the vagaries and creative nooks and crannies. We still want to make you an active participant. We want to eat with you, to dance with you, to sing with you, to imagine with you, to think with you, to build with you. Light but still with our feet on the earth, not to lose even a single moment of these paradises that we want to make everyday.

Elephant Sessions
The programme for this opening evening, devoted to this year’s country of honour, was entrusted to the Stornoway’s HebCelt Festival and presents the Mischa McPherson Trio, Blasta, Tide Lines and Elephant Sessions. At the beginning of the evening, the public can enjoy a screening of Scotland’s Wild Heart, a documentary on Scotland’s wildlife, with the soundtrack performed live by Donald Shaw and a group of talented traditional musicians, especially invited for the occasion.. A composite from several images. And yes, the netting is odd, but necessary, I guess. I can only imagine how tempting that would be to pigeons...
I've been shooting more portraits in natural light with a white seamless background.
A few hours after I shot this (and two other neighborhood kids), I came across WIRED.com's video of Clay Enos talking about pulling people off the street and photographing them against a white seamless in open shade. Check out his website, especially the portraits from Black Rock CIty. Very inspiring.

As minhas primeiras aventuras envergonhadas em fotografia consistiam em expressar emoções reais. Ao descobrir o mundo com a minha câmara encontrei uma nova vertente da fotografia - a minha própria realidade, tão visível quanto invisível, escondida em sombras de presságios. A fotografia para mim, hoje, é uma forma de contar histórias simples sobre momentos que não quero deixar esquecer.

A inspiração para as fotos veio de Prypeć, um lugar dentro da zona de segurança criada após a avaria do 4º reactor da Central Nuclear de Chernobyl. As fotos que constituem a série "tempo de decadência" são um registo da realidade desse lugar, 23 anos passados sobre o acidente. Convido-vos para um passeio num lugar engolido pelo tempo.

"sem rotina" é uma série de 32 fotografias a preto-e-branco divididas em 8 capítulos que representam o meu percurso de vida, algumas das suas passagens e o atingir da maturidade e da auto-consciência. É uma história acerca de sentimentos, emoções e intuições, um mundo escondido. Acerca de momentos belos e de momentos difíceis na vida dos homens.

2009 Hennessy Artistry DJ competition club series will bring a variety of talented and well accomplished DJ's in the city. Featuring some of the most renowned DJ's from all over the world, each week there will be a new set of contestants competing in each Group while having the opportunity to showcase their skills at BAR NONE or POP OPERA. The FINALISTS of each Group will then compete for the CHAMPIONSHIP.
