A tranquil moment inside a restaurant where the frenzied lunch crowd has all but dispersed. Room Service is a cozy and hip Thai restaurant located on 8th Ave in Chelsea of Manhattan. One of the things I love when on holiday is the opportunity to dine out at interesting places among the locals and tourists alike. Wandering the streets soaking in the sight, sound and smell is something I am never tired of. Have you ever noticed that the food always seem to taste better when you're traveling? Or how it seems you're always hungry?

A well spent weekend.
went to catch some MG action but ended up fishing in the nearby river. This was the only service in 4hrs time span. All other trains were running late.
While it looked very inviting outside today, it was actually pretty cold for standing around and playing with toys. Nonetheless, I was able to get a few shots off. It was nice to get my new truck out on the open road.

Here's the taxi rank, and one goose cab is off to a green area. The others gradually follow, reforming each time into another taxi...
It's easier, especially in strong winds for the geese to fly together. Even over a short distance, it's possible to see some geese drop back a bit as others come to the front. I don't know if anybody gets any tips!
According to a news report I once saw, some athletic trainers have urged their trainees to watch how geese work together to achieve their amazing flights.

The Shuangyashan Mines Railway servicing point on New Year's Day 2001 and a temperature of around minus forty, with 'QJ' No.3593 taking on water and labourers about to clear out the ash pits to prevent further ice from forming in the ash pits and surroundings while the going is good - a futile job it would seem!

One of the most interesting places in the cottage but alas the most dangerous . The ceiling in the room below shows that there is virtually no support left on the floor. GRRR!!
I know this isn't a very exciting photo, but we don't get to see the 'SES' volunteers very often here in Perth. Western Australia.
It's a fantastic volunteer service that helps communities in times of disaster.
A bit on the lines of a. civil defence organisation in times of War.
Only these people help when Mother Nature hits hard. Very necessary these days....
Two and a half years after it was put into storage, Metrolink F59PHR 873 is back in service powering trains around Southern California. The last of Metrolink's original F59PH fleet, 873 was stored in the summer of 2020 as more new F125 units were brought into service. However, with some F125s and MP36PH units out for maintenance, a handful of F59PHRs were brought back to life. Units 856 and 868 have been running since the summer of 2022; 873 was brought back the week of 12/12 and is still just stretching its legs after a long rest. Here it leads train 362 into Claremont on a Saturday afternoon.
