Na wat meldingen vanuit Duitsland werd besloten om weer af te reizen naar de spoorlijn Krefeld-Neuss, mede omdat de er weer 2 DB Fahrwegdienste-treinen met SEL tractie ingelegd waren. Alleen was de vraag of deze nog bij daglicht zouden vertrekken. Gelukkig was het net zoals vorige week het weer mooi zonnig. Ondanks opkomende bewolking van het zuiden, loste de bewolking op rond Keulen. In de middag kwam de melding binnen dat de eerste 'Altschotterzug' was vertrokken en uur later de tweede trein met 181 204. Het wachten kon kon beginnen.
SEL 181 204, in dienst voor DB Fahrwegdienste, met sleep lage boordwagens, beladen met vuile grond, van Düsseldorf-Eller naar Stolberg (Rheinland), als trein 93016 door Bösinghoven.

Am 18.07.2021 war die SEL von Nürnberg-Dutzendteich in Richtung Neumünster unterwegs. Zugpferd war dabei 181 213 welche mit ihrem Betonteile Zug im allerletzten Licht von zwei Fotografen bei Gottmannsdorf an der Strecke Nürnberg - Ansbach angepasst wurde.

Récupéré sur le Salar d'Uyuni à l'aide d'une barre à mine. Ramené en France et placés dans un plat. 38 ans après il ont un peu suintés, les angles se sont arrondis mais il ont conservés leur teinte blanche / rosâtre.
Cerise sur la gâteau, je les trouvais un peu poussiéreux, et j'ai eu la bonne idée de les mettre à tremper dans l'eau. Comme quoi les méfaits de l'altitude altèrent le cerveau ! Tremper un sucre aurait été aussi débile !

L’eau devient rose quand elle est fortement concentrée en sel car une algue microscopique se développe qui est chargée de carotène, ce qui lui donne sa couleur rose-rouge . Plus le taux de sel augmente, plus l’algue prolifère et colore l’eau.
Water turns pink when it is highly concentrated in salt because a microscopic algae grows that is loaded with carotene, which gives it its pinkish-red color. The more the salt level increases, the more algae proliferate and color the water.

A une cinquantaine de kilomètres de Cuzco, la ville principale des Andes, Maras s'étend sur un plateau qui domine la Vallée sacrée des Incas, à 3 300 m mètres d'altitude. La ville a surtout survécu, semble-t-il grâce à ses salines, situées à près d'une heure de marche de là, sur un versant escarpé. À cet endroit, le plateau commence à plonger vers la Vallée sacrée. A plus de 3 200 m, une source jaillit donnant naissance à un ruisseau saturé de chlorure de sodium. Un atout précieux dans cette région très éloignée de la mer. Aujourd'hui, les 700 à 800 familles qui possèdent les quelque 3 600 bassins sont organisées en coopérative. La production annuelle totale oscille entre 160 et 200 tonnes.

This museum near my home in Bournville, Birmingham is currently closed due to Covid and I had to hold my camera up above the hedge to take this picture after the snowfall.
Selly Manor is a timber framed building in Bournville, that was moved to its current site in 1916 by chocolate manufacturer and philanthropist George Cadbury.
Over its 500 year history this building has had several names as well as two locations. The earliest records for the house date from 1476. At that time it was called Smythes Tenement and was on land belonging to William Jenette, lord of the sub-manor of Selly. William Jenette leased Smythes Tenement to a local farmer, John Othe’field (John of the field).
The building was in a poor state of repair when its destruction was prevented by George Cadbury, who acquired it in 1907 with the intention that it would be a museum to complement the other public buildings he had built in the garden village of Bournville, alongside the Cadbury chocolate factory. In a letter to his son, Laurence wrote ‘These old buildings are educational and especially needed for a new town like Birmingham; a vast majority of people never think of bygone times.’
