From California, USA. As usual I look forward to the little nandina bush outside of my door telling me that the holidays are coming.

However this year, the berries are late. I'm not surprised as our vegetation is beyond dry. We have only received less than an inch of rain during this, our rainy season. The plants are watered by an small irrigation system, but nothing can replace a good old fashion rain shower.

This is an image I took last year when the rains came.

I imagined the gold leaves as the stepping stones to glory...

The rainy season in the Amazon Peru

Nothing fancy. I was decorating for Halloween/autumn and found a nice angle for a snapshot. Very minor color correction etc., no major edits.
