The ever beautiful River Brathay close to Ambleside in the lake district national park.
Wonderful conditions of soft light, frost and mist gave the scene a very painterly look
Four images taken at the same location (Upper Whiston, Rotherham) during the course of the past 12 months. Not quite the four seasons. Clockwise from the top left, these were taken in February, April, March and June.
A few years ago I started a first edition of this image. I have always liked wild flowers, approach them with stealth, see how they move and receive light. Here I decided to combine several of them, with the blue thread, and with the color contrast caused by each flower. It was born as a game that soon became a series, Seasons. For me it was a fun, but the images liked and YELLOWKORNER He asked me several of them to reproduce them and sell them in their stores. Today I came back to find this image. I have decided to make a small cut and go back up, to see if it has withstood the passage of time or has withered. (Google Translate)

Rain had started to fall on almost a daily basis in the Masai Mara when I arrived. Often there were short showers which didn't interfere with game drives.
Once there were thunderstorms in the middle of the night which I experienced from the coziness of my comfortable tent. I felt truly in touch with nature then. In the morning, the land was moist and there was dew in the air.
The Christmas cactus has gone nuts this year. This is a focus stack of one of the blooms. Click a couple times to make it big ;-)
Enjoy the holiday season - 2020 is almost over!!!
As seen in Washington, D.C. the day of the 4th Nor'easter, 21 March 2018 around 1500. Shoveling out what I hope is the end of my snow shots for the season.
Autumn and winter colors seen in summer (August) along the spectacular Glenn Highway. Didn't have to worry about mosquitoes. Sandals not recommended.
A few more shots from this impressive drive in comments.
Thank you for taking a look and for your comments, faves and suggestions!
Horsefield's Bronze-Cuckoo (Chalcites basalis)
The first of these I have seen this year. Initially I located it some distance away on a fence but was unable to get any closer. It then obliged by flying to this bare branch right beside the now unused section of Sneydes Rd.
Today is last day of summer.
Past week the temperature dropped 5 degree C below the normal. We start seeing some beautiful fall colours. Hey, this is Canada ;)
♥ Thank you very much for your visits, faves, and kind comments ♥
A quick capture to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a very happy 2018 to you and your friends and family!
The first real wintry storm of the season! Snow and ice in the forests of the Coast Range. Brushy Mountain 4856 Ft.
The appearance of seed pods in my garden not only remind me that chores are waiting, but also that summer is subtly fading into autumn.
"To be interested in the changing seasons is a happier state of mind than to be hopelessly in love with spring."
~ George Santayana
Some dreams are in the night time
And some seem like yesterday
But leaves turn brown and fade
Ships sail away
You long to say a thousand words but
Seasons change...
Das feuchtwarme Wetter der letzten Wochen hat in vielen Wäldern das Pilzwachstum und die Entstehung von Fruchtkörpern angeregt. Eine schöne Jahreszeit für Fotografen.
The warm, humid weather of the last few weeks has stimulated mushroom growth and the emergence of fruiting bodies in many forests. A beautiful season for photographers.
A snowman in Yosemite tries to stay in one piece whilst the Spring sun burns down doing its best to melt it!

Milky Way - Martin's Beach, California.
This time of year you have to get up early to get the Milky Way good as it happens best between 3-5am in late April. Clear sky's finally arrived, along with moonless light pollution. I finally got to test out my new lens.
With the official arrival of Spring in Canada a few days ago and after a chilly weekend and snow yesterday here in London, milder weather arrived today making it truly feel like the season is here. The Robins singing their song and trees beginning to blossom further reaffirm the knowledge that winter has passed.
Wishing everyone good health and renewed hope in these challenging times.
