Keppel Quarry, near Owen Sound, Ontario, is the subject of some local controversy as they seek to expand their enterprise. Valid concerns have been raised, on both sides. Not sure where it stands. The gate was open as I drove by on this photo shoot day back in the spring, so I parked and walked in. Trespassing I suppose, technically, but the gate was open. I managed about a half dozen shots from just near the gate before I saw a company vehicle speeding my way. I high-tailed it, gave them the slip, scrammed outa there in a jiffy. Investigative photo-journalism is very stressful.

Photos of some of my old hardcore punk flyers: I started going to DIY hardcore punk shows in Philadelphia in 1987 when I was 16 years old. By my third show, Government Issue at the infamous Club Pizazz, Bull (then aged 13) was right there with me. Two years later, in 1989, we were putting on shows in NJ as Orgasmic Productions and later in Philly as The Cabbage Collective (both groups included Chris Fry and Sean Gustilo).

While back in NJ on my old room for X-mas I decided to photograph a few of the flyers still on my walls for shows I went to around the country. The flyers may look distorted, but that's because they are affixed to my walls or ceilings and could probably never be removed thanks to their age. I've been involved in "the scene" for just about 20 years now, so it may not just be the flyers that are falling apart. I jest...sort of.

These are several flyers on a cluster including my first-ever show of 7 Seconds (who didn't show!), Justice League, Scram and E.A.B. at Club Pizazz in Philadelphia on July 31, 1987.You're basically on your own here. There are flyers for Econochrist, Enemy, The Ramones, Filth, Rancid, Supertouch, Infection, Pagan Babies, Serial Killers, etc. Look close! Flyers here date from 1987 - the very early '90s.

Henri Honne {pronounced Hunny} Wells, was born a free man into slavery in the North American Bible-belt South.

He performed for eight consecutive months on Whitey Mills' "Get Right With Your Dry Beer Jesus" circuit until drifting into obscurity and isolation in the woods of the Carolinas.

Since those days he has resurfaced in Baltimore, MD and Brooklyn, NY. Honne Wells appears frequently, today, in Brooklyn, NY performing solo "scrim-scram" guitar and throaty hogcalls and is more often seen whistling, and waiting for the "G" train. - T. Rose

Power comes from a hybrid propulsion system consisting of turbojets for atmospheric flight and acceleration to near-hyper-sonic speeds. Propulsion is then transitioned to SCRAM-Jets as the craft goes hyper-sonic and finally to plasma-pulse propulsion to achieve escape velocity and maneuver in space.
