This photo was taken at the wildfire ruins near Medicine Lake, Jasper National Park. A lighting strike started the fire July 2015. The fire burned over 10 days and nearly 1,000 hectares of land. Although fire was a regular part of the ecosystem, it could take years to bring colours back to a stark landscape of blackened trees and charred earth.

I haven't been going out and about for photos lately. Due to some health issues and Covid I seem to have lost the urge to pick up the camera. I really must try harder. This was taken back in February 2016 in my garden. It is strange, but we haven't had many spiders in the garden this year.
Composite: The background of this photo is an infrared image I took with my Canon Rebel XT using a Canon EFS 17-85 lens. The pose is based on a publicity photo of Lon Chaney for a now lost movie "London After Midnight." The face is mine manipulated in Photoshop. It made a journey through many filters to appear as it is now. I entered a square format version of this in a Halloween contest by BenQ.
