Note by the exhibitor:
Welcome to The History of the Vehicle in SL exhibit - A Linden Endowment for the Arts project! Because this is a texture-rich exhibit, we suggest giving things time to rez clearly and taking your time through the displays.
In this exhibit, you will take a journey through time and see how the vehicle has evolved in Second Life. You will see vehicles from as early as 2003, (when there were no mesh or sculpties; only prims, or 'primative objects' as they were known then) all the way up to our the amazingly detailed versions of the present day.
Your journey will begin in the museum, by taking the teleporter on the floor of the reception area. From there, take the sidewalk over to the main display area, to see some of the creativity that abounds within the vehicle world today.
Feel free to wander the sim and explore. You will find whimsical, humorous, serious and informative areas throughout, and specialty exhibits abound. Be sure to gather information notecards from the info signs in each area, and feel free to sit on the benches in the relaxation areas.
Weekends will bring fun and entertainment, from concerts to live DJs, so be sure to check the weekly schedule of events, which is available in signs throughout the exhibit.
Thank you for your interest in this 6-month long project; hoping you enjoy it and have as much fun as we all did in the build and creation of this exhibit. Feel free to invite friends, and share the notecard through your groups.
Should you have any questions or comments, please feel free to send me a notecard or IM.

A pleasant chance spot on a long run today around the leafy early Autumn lanes of North London. Sierra are, or course, an ever rarer sight these days. These mysterious long-term owner cars with a private plate are always such oddballs and lead one to speculate who the owner might be.
Previously seen by avid spotter Sam Osbon.

A red line at the bottom and two at the top define the figurative register occupied by a female figure riding a panther. The character, in profile, painted in white, with red hair and a wreath of leaves, and a circular earring, moves to the right, drawing back her right arm and brandishing a fish with her left. The drawing of the woman is accompanied by an inscription with a controversial reading, perhaps meaningless. The feline is drawn with its head turned towards the observer, its eyes wide open, its tongue hanging out. Its figure is made entirely with graffito, the thick fur is rendered on the neck by dotting, on the body by open circles.
This polychrome black ground lekythos belongs to the so-called “Six Technique” class. This term was introduced by J. D. Beazley in honor of Jan Six, the Dutch scholar who first studied and classified the vases made with this special technique that employs polychromy on a black ground.

Dr. Corruption looked right at Mr. Bear, and began chasing him towards the door, which Mr. Bear ran behind, and locked... He locked me inside with that thing. While Dr. Corruption was still clawing at the door, I ran behind a table, and hid behind it.
Dr. Corruption: Aghh!!! Ragh!
I heard Mr. Bear open the second door, and escape... Damn it, I let him get away again.
Dr. Corruption: *inhale*... Ugh... Ragh... Raghh!!!
I heard her run back to the glass jars, and I peered around the corner to see... She was drinking almost all of them, always throwing the glass jars towards the floor, or against the wall. My god, what did she do to herself? How is this whole "Dr. Corruption" thing even possible? I had to keep quiet, I was horrified about what this thing could do to me.
Dr. Corruption: *inhale*... *exhale*...
She was breathing, loud and heavy... I saw her start to shake again, one of the chemicals did something to her... Her claws grew longer, her jacket ripped more... I think it was more of the stuff she drank earlier...
Dr. Corruption: I-... I can s-... ugh... smell you... *sniff*... Ragh...
...She can speak? Huh. Well, I had to do something to get out of here, so I threw my sword over the table, and looked over. She quickly turned around, and caught the blade.
Dr. Corruption: Agh... A-Aha!!!
She charged at me, her green eyes peering into mine, as I slowly backed away... She dropped the sword on the ground, but I used my grappling hook to bring it back to me, to block a swing from her claws.
Sapphire: Aghh..!!!
She clenched her fists, and slammed them down on me, but I used all of my strength to block her fists with my, much smaller, hands...
Sapphire: Ugh... Is there someway to bring you back to... To how you were before?
Dr. Corruption: How I was before?!
She released her fists from my grasp, and punched me across the room!
Sapphire: *uff*!
Dr. Corruption: I-... *inhale*... I am Dr. Corruption! I was Dr. Corruption, I... *sniff*... I always will be! Dr! Corruption!!!
Sapphire: Well... *cough*... D-Doesn't mean we have to fight!
Dr. Corruption: You threw sword at me! You are enemy! I-... *sniff*... I will kill you!!!
She ran at me again, but I tried to block her with my sword, but eventually I dropped it... She grabbed me by the throat.
Dr. Corruption: Y- *inhale* You don't know me..!!! You don't know what *sniff* I can do!!!
She pulled her hand back, and clenched her hand into a fist, slowly...
Sapphire: *wheeze*... Maybe that's true but... I did know someone named Dr. Innocent.
I remembered an episode of Ultra-Fist, where Ultra realized he couldn't always win a fight with his fists, sometimes he had to make the enemy feel something, emotionally. Remember who they used to be, stuff like that. That's what he did when he fought Big-Woman, formally Small-Woman, for the first time.
Dr. Corruption: H-...Huh?
Sapphire: I-... I remember saving Dr. Innocent from a mugger in an alley...
Dr. Corruption: *inhale*...
Sapphire: Then she went and got attacked by someone named Snowflake, I helped her then, too.
Dr. Corruption: Ugh... Aghh!
Sapphire: I remember her thanking me, when I got her purse back.
Dr. Corruption: Aghh!!!
She dropped me, and grabbed her head, her skin was fading back to normal, her claws becoming shorter, her hair growing...
Sapphire: *uff*... I-...I remember when she smiled at me, and asked me my name after I saved her... Do you remember that name?
Dr. Corruption: Ugh... S-... Saghh!!!! Ugh...
Sapphire: You're getting there...
She fell on the ground, shaking, her hair turning brown, her eyes turning back to normal..!
Dr. Corruption: S-...Sapph... Sa... Saghh... Sapphire..!!!
Sapphire: Right!
Dr. Corruption: Agh... Ugh...
Sapphire: Now, what's your name?
Dr. Corruption: I-...Innocent..!!! Dr... Innocent...
Sapphire: That's it!!!
She finally morphed back to her normal self... I helped her up.
Sapphire: Hey... Welcome back.
Dr. Innocent: Ugh... Thanks, for helping me. Mr. Bear always forces me to do that... This whole stupid "Dr. Innocent" persona was his idea.
Sapphire: But... He ran away from you, he was scarred of you, how does that work.
Dr. Innocent: To be fair, I'm pretty horrifying. *sigh*, I think I'm quitting. Working for him, I mean.
Sapphire: Good idea, that guy's awful.
Dr. Innocent: Ugh, tell me about it... I know I was an actor and all, and I wasn't really mugged, but um... You seem like a hero. You could do some real good, I think.
Sapphire: Oh, well, thank you!
Dr. Innocent: Don't mention it... Now, if you excuse me, I need to run away from here before Mr. Bear kills me for damaging all this equipment.
