This sandstone structure was completed in 1890 to serve as the Stonewall County Courthouse. The county seat was moved about 7 miles away to Aspermont in 1898. John Baldwin, who owned about 21,000 acres around the town, purchased the old "town" including the courthouse and converted it into his residence. Baldwin descendants lived in the old courthouse until 2002. After Mrs. Ida Baldwin Denison died in 1997, the property was part of many legal battles. In 2010, the old courthouse was put up for sale to settle court fees of over $750,000 related to the decades of legal battles. I could not find information about the current owner of the property. The courthouse is in a sad state of decay. It would make a great county museum.

One of Arizona's most spectacular natural wonders are its sandstone formations. Among these are the Antelope Canyon series of slot canyons. Of these, the recently opened Canyon X offers two side by side canyons which are full of fantastic visual treats and which were, at least at my time of visit, still largely undiscovered.
