Near the summit of Mount Davis there's a rock formation called Baughman Rocks. A farmer named Mr. Baughman was searching for lost cows in the area, and one of his sons, August, was slowing the search down because he was tired. Well, Mr. Baughman killed him and dumped the body in these rocks.

these sandstone rocks are from our property....and they are seriously HEAVY...but that did not deter my husband as he singlehandedly lugged them from all over to give my courtyard the desired French look!

Located at the bottom of Table Mountain, at an area which was once full of hydraulic gold mines during the California Gold Rush, is a very interesting formation of crumbly cliffs like this one! The cliffs are made up of a mixture of sandstone, clay, and chalk, and crumble easily!
