So on this particular Friday night, back on May 24th this year (2024), a flurry of fireworks blasted off above the Sydney Opera House. They looked like a bowl of fruit salad!!
The fireworks occurred as I was walking across the harbour bridge (as you do on a Friday night, lol) making my way from Kirribilli to 'The Rocks' to take pictures of the city, and also get coffee at 'The Rocks Cafe' on George Street.
I was able to capture the fireworks by resting the camera on the top of one of the guard rails along the bridge walkway.
The Opera House sails are featuring artwork from Australian artist, Julia Gutman, who has 'digitised' centuries old fabric making techniques. Here is all the information about the 2024 'Lighting Of The Sails':

A favourite winter salad, very hardy and as you can see from the masses of tiny flowers it is very happy to multiply all by itself...
a simple tuna salad for lunch today. i added some orange zest and torn mint leaves to give it some zing.
Today we went to Sac's Place for lunch, a wonderful Italian restaurant that makes what may be the best pizza in Astoria. It was more celebrating work stuff and a birthday.
This is the house salad that we ordered to accompany our pizzas.
Be warned. Pizza photo to follow, perhaps as soon as tomorrow.

I make my salads with romaine, arugula, cucumber, grape and regular tomatoes, garbanzo beans, avocado, pistachio nuts, croutons, oil and vinegar. If I could reshoot this, I would remove the front crouton. But I can't because I ate it! : )
Salad Cress, always on the kitchen windowsill for adding to salads and sandwiches I love it's peppery taste.

"Ladurée "Paris
Parisian tea rooms' history is intimately tied to the
history of the Ladurée family. It all began in 1862, when
Louis Ernest Ladurée, a miller from the southwest of
France, founded a bakery in Paris at 16 rue Royale.
In 1871, while Baron Haussmann was giving
Paris a « new face », a fire in the bakery opened
the opportunity to transform it into a pastry shop.
The decoration of the pastry shop was entrusted to
Jules Cheret, a famous turn-of-the-century
painter and poster artist.
