Monte Viso (Italy) and its ramparts descending on a sea of clouds.

During this beautiful autumn sunset I felt as being on an exposed side of a vessel engaged to navigate for endless seas...

Quite visible, below, the Lake Superior and Lake Lausetto (frozen).

Morro Bay, California

at Dovestone Sailing Club

Jerry invited Bob to go sailing with his cousin Cooper. I tagged along. I learned a lot and realized how HARD it is to navigate a sailing boat and it just doesn't go in a straight line. ahaha! My D200 is out in NJ getting repaired. I purchased one of Josh's used D70's. So I brought that along to take some photos. We returned to the Chicago Sailing Club about 1 1/2 hrs late. The wind shifted and pushed us further out southeast. The waves got high, the weather cold, and the tiller attacked Cooper. Bob and Jerry were fighting the winds and waves tightening the jibs while Coop was being choked by the tiller at the same time managing the boom. I sat in between all three of them waving my hands around and screaming in my head, "Oh no!!! He's getting choked!!! Our captain is being choked!!! What do I do? What do I do???" ahahaha So I grabbed the tiller and flung it far to my left nearly tipping the boat over. ahahaha...oh yeah, and right when we hit the mouth of the harbor, our motor wouldn't start. and we were going in circles slowly getting closer to the shoreline and wall. pretty frustrating and the dang flashlight wouldn't cooperate either. ahaha!!! I want to take lessons now so I don't kill all of us! Good times. Good times. ENJOY!!!

After the rain time to sail on the swollen River Stour Christchurch.

Sunset Solent sailing during the Golden Hour.

With gently failing light this yacht was making progress in the Solent at a quiet and leisurely pace.

I wanted to be on board so badly.

Dutch sailing ship Golden Leeuw (Lion), built in 1937, in Torbay late this afternoon. It was about 3 miles (5km) away from where I was. I haven't used a painting effect. That's just a simple edit.
