The Library of Congress Steel workers in Denver

Title
Denver, Colorado. Twenty-four hours a day the sparks from acetylene torches of steel workers in eight Denver fabricating plants are flying thick and fast that the U.S. Navy may carry the battle to the enemy in all parts of the world. Here in secluded Denver, the world's largest city not on a navigable waterway, this war production worker, who has never seen a battleship or an ocean, fashions the steel hull parts which are being assembled at Mare Island Navy Yard--1,200 miles from where he and his fellow wokers are on the job to help "keep 'em sailling."

GM started producing the Opel Corsa B (Chevrolet) sedan and wagon under the Buick marque in 2001. The Buick Sail came in sedan and wagon (SRV) body styles. It was restyled in 2005, when it was also rebranded from Buick to Chevrolet.
An all-new Chevrolet Sail, with mechanics unrelated to the old Corsa-based Sail, was launched at the very end of 2009 and was developed by the SAIC General Motors subsidiary. It initially came as a sedan, but was quickly followed by a hatchback. The Sail was a tremendous success, topping at 279,740 units in 2012. The hatchback accounted for roughly 10% of total sales and didn't return when Chevrolet launched the third generation Sail at the end of 2014 (photo).

There were several true sailing vessels in port during
our visit - one can almost say " Natural Beauty."

Little boats with unlimited sail area.
Had a great day in Sydney. Went out to watch the famous 18-Footers race. As far as I know the only class rules are the boat has to be a monohull and the length can't exceed 18 feet. After that everything is up for grabs. As you can see from the photo they put up a lot of sail. Got to ride in a ferry with family and friends of the racers, an enormously friendly group of people. Appropriately enough, the yacht club is called the Royal Flying Squadron.
HDR week, day six
Taken in September 2008, as the Funchal 500 Tall Ships Regatta set sail from Falmouth Harbour to Madeira. The tall ship centre of picture is the Shabab Oman, pride of the Royal Navy of Oman. She is a 44 metre long Barquentine, and was built in Scotland in 1971.
Unlike the other six pictures in this week’s HDR series, this picture was rendered using the Topaz HDR Pop filter, which gives a softer, more blended result.

This Optimist Dinghy sailboat was part of a children's sailing lesson fleet which sailed out of Falmouth Harbor to practice drills in Nantucket Sound.
