Our new neighbors bring us food from their garden. Today it was two bags full of Blackberries. Tonight it's a juicy blackberry pie.
These images were made during a journey down Rustic Road 97 in Marinette County on June 24, 2017.
R-97 is a curvy, hilly route passing through wooded areas that often form a scenic canopy over the road, as well as some outstanding agricultural vistas.

R-32, Wisconsin’s longest rustic road, offers a 37-mile journey through several county parks and the Peshtigo River State Forest. The route features multiple species of hardwoods and conifers, along with numerous granite boulders and outcroppings. R-32 also offers vistas of the Thunder and Peshtigo rivers.

The metal panels are nailed to the back of the top and bottom rails and slotted into grooves in the posts. The aged, galvanized iron blends beautifully with the rustic posts. . Very Australian!

Area and Marinette County Forest land. R-44 was originally part of the Wisconsin-Michigan Railroad.

An element of rusticity floats about my persona... and with my rustic recycled brown leather coat you’ll have no trouble finding it. With its creases, lines & nics, my jacket has been buffed with a special polish to resurrect its true beauty.
I’ve got wee little hand-stamped dotted designs which travel along my weathered leather-bound boundaries. Embellished on my cover flap you’ll find an aged brass leaf which has been beaten down and stitched into my coat with linen thread.
Open me up, and you’ll find I am filled with 100 sheets (200 pages) of tea-stained paper for your thoughts, dreams, ideas & sketches. Hand-torn, my beautifully aged pages have been stitched into my coat with dark rust colored linen thread which allows me to lay flat when in use.
Measuring 3 ¾ x 5 ½ inches, I’m a sweet sized journal for urban or country travel, him or her.
