North Smithfield, Rhode Island
I have driven by this many times but never stopped to photograph until I was recently inspired by Ken's photo.
This drive-in opened in 1951 and is the only active drive-in in Rhode Island.

Rusztikus diós csokoládétorta Ferenc-napra.
Ingredients
4 eggs
1/2 cup [100 g] super fine sugar
1 cup [140 g] all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon [15 mL] unsweetened cocoa powder
2 tablespoons [30 g] butter, melted
2 3/4 ounces [78 g] dark chocolate, melted
1 1/4 cups [310 mL] roughly chopped walnuts
50 g sliced almond, to decorate
Preparation
Preheat oven to 325°F [160°C].
Grease a deep 7-inch [18-cm] round cake pan; line bottom of pan with waxed paper.
Into a large bowl, beat together eggs and sugar using an electric beater, for 10 minutes, until light and creamy [beater leaves a trace that stays for a few seconds when lifted].
Sift together flour and unsweetened cocoa powder; using a metal spoon or spatula, fold flour mixture into first mixture.
Then fold melted butter, melted dark chocolate and finally, roughly chopped walnuts into dough.
Evenly pour dough into prepared cake pan. Scatter it with almond slices.
Bake cake into preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes, until dough bounces back when lightly pressed with a finger into its centre.
Remove cake from oven; leave to cool in pan, onto a wire rack, for 5 minutes.
Unmold cake onto wire rack, remove waxed paper, and leave cake to cool completely.
Serve it with whipped cream.

Wasn't expecting to go see this vagrant, but since we were over in the City anyway, decided to stop by. Too many people and too far away, but I am glad I saw it.

The view from our rooms.
Can you believe it?
Our hotel was fairly new, furbished with clean tiles, turquoise walls and pristine white sheets.
You look out the window and you can see all the rooftops of the old shophouses that are probably at least 50 years old.
Talk about an experiential view.

Philmar
'Rustic Beauty' series
cardboard
each (over) 550 pieces, used and complete
each 20½ x 16½ in
2022 piece count: 119,567
puzzle: 174
Another bargain buy from Malvern Flea Fair - £5 for the 4 shown here plus another separate Philmar. Result!
We decided to complete all four in this series before uploading them as a collage so we could check that they were complete. Several pieces were broken in half and one (in the 1st puzzle) was missing a half, but to all intents and purposes they were complete. All the boxes were in pretty good condition too. I left Mike to do them as he's the one who loves this style of vintage puzzle, and he tore through them pretty quickly.

FREE CAMPING. Camping outside developed campgrounds in California. Also referred to as ---- Primitive Camping, Open camping, and I think RVers call it "Boondocking". The BLM lands and National Forests are rich with camp sites like these and most are located on numbered dirt roads, so get a good map. Most roads are passible with a regular car and 4x4 is seldom needed, but weather often determines that factor.
Camper vans can make it to such awesome creekside spots, but motorhomes (of any length) are not advised on these narrow, unmaintained routes. Yes, I said FREE CAMPS, as in no charge ....the only catch is you must be REALLY responsible out here in the boonies.
No bear boxes out here, so store food in locked car w/ windows up. No bathrooms, so bring your shovel. No signs, so carry the real maps. Most importantly - Obtain a CAMP FIRE PERMIT from the ranger station, have a shovel, a bucket, and know the fire restrictions (if any). BE FIRE SAFE in California and always know the conditions.
If you can dig this style of camping and wanna know more, check out the back roads database at www.totalescape.com/outside/
A first-winter male Rustic Bunting at Thursley Common - Surrey. A rarity in Britain, this bird has been wintering on Thursley Common for several weeks along with several other members of its genus; mainly Reed Buntings but including an equally rare Little Bunting!
A very skulking bird to photograph as it kept hidden for most of the time only emerging for a short period, although the lighting conditions hardly helped!
Rustic Winery Letterhead design template by Carl Patterson.Showcased on Inkd.com.
The subtle pattern and refined palette of this winery letterhead makes it perfect for a high-end winery and vineyard. The stylish faint grape leaves and the ornate type are all reminiscent of warm Central Valley afternoons spent amongst the cellars and the vines.
