The Rustic Tavern is a family-owned bar that gets raves for cheap drinks from customers. The Rustic Tavern was chosen in the July 2010 issue of Madison Magazine as the Favorite Neighborhood Bar in Madison! This blocked-corner building was constructed in 1933 with residential upstairs and commercial down below. The outside of it bears two backlit plastic signs.

On the wooden table, a story is born,
among old books and dimmed lights,
the typewriter speaks, with its memory worn,
and every sound fills rooms out of sight.
Words etched on yellowed sheets,
tell of time that is not in vain,
between yesterday and today, memories meet,
an entire world in every refrain.
This is Fox Island, Tors Cove, on the right. Local farmers ferry their sheep over to summer on the island
This old cow byre looked as if it was long abandoned but the fresh pallet in the gap would give the lie to that!
The walk from the parking lot to the hotel entrance took us through a wildflower meadow with rustic charm. My husband and I spent three nights in Cripple Creek, an old Colorado gold mining town. We stayed at Carr Manor, a hotel that was converted from a high school built in 1897 when the town was at its peak of population and wealth. We stayed in the Governor Carr suite which was luxurious and charming. The hosts were kind and accommodating. While Denver baked in near record high summer temperatures we enjoyed the open windows and the constant cool fresh breezes from the high altitude mountain air.

This little fire wagon is retired in Gold Hill... a very rustic community. Added color contours to give the photo some additional character.

A Day Of Baking.
I had a single pie crust and some apples left over from my last apple pie so thought I'd try making an Apple Tart. This turned out great. It's for Chanukkah! This is totally made from scratch, no boxes were opened for this dessert.

This rustic cabin is found at the Cradle of Forestry on US 276 in Western North Carolina. I stacked parts of three images with different apertures and focus for this final picture.
I'm starting to work on some of my old shots from 2009 taken in Fredericksburg, Texas.

This living room was designed in a brown theme with a touch of a rough and rustic-looking wall. This introduces texture into the space making it feel quite relaxing and calm.
The wooden/timber joinery works on the focal wall complements the textured wall and overall theme colours. The furniture aligns with the design nicely as well. Overall, amazing space.
The Flickr Lounge-Weathered & Worn
We had the arbor built back when we first moved here and the bench was built the year after. It has definitely become weathered and worn over the years.
