Voor deze opdracht moest ik foto's maken voor het thema 'Thuis'. Toen ik hier over nadacht kwam ik er achter dat thuis voor mij geen materiele dingen zijn. Het zijn gevoelens zoals warmte en veiligheid. Maar hoe kon ik dit fotograferen? Ik heb gekozen om elke foto op dezelfde neutrale plek te maken.

Elke foto geeft een gevoel weer. Omdat thuis ook negatieve kanten kan hebben, heb ik alles in zwart/wit gefotografeerd. Het geeft de foto's een treurige uitstraling maar geeft het daardoor, naar mijn mening, ook meer kracht.

Ik heb 1 foto zonder bordje gemaakt. Met deze foto, waar ik met mijn paspoort opsta, wil ik aangeven dat 'thuis' niet plaatsgebonden is voor mij. Ik kan overal in de wereld een thuis hebben of vinden zolang de gevoelens die bij een thuis horen er zijn.

Rusted remains of the history on Bald Knob Mountain in Pocahontas County, WV. Parts from a steam locomotive sit over a hill from the original tracks.

I took this in an abandoned limestone mine. There is a ton of really cool old equipment just rusting away in there.

#12. Rust

The cabin of this flatbed truck has been exposed to the elements for probably half a century, or more. It has now taken on a deep rust-coloured sheen, with most of the original paint now long gone. I'm guessing that it was originally made sometime between 1930 – '50. This is one of the pieces of farming machinery left at the former Ravensborne Railway Station in Western Australia. The station was closed in 1925.

Jan 29, 2015: Starting to disassemble the front fork, handlebars removed and whaddya know: rust! Must remember to lube the new front end better.

I had a petrol leak the other day which necessitated taking off the bumper (and dropping the tank, which was full less 5 miles - yay). Once I'd removed it I realised that the mud flap on my car was doing a very good job of stopping crud covering everything and causing it to rust. (which is what caused the leak btw)

Rust Organza Mandap - Maz Events

Those bolt holds together the pipe for this geothermal drilling site. This reseach hole is around 2000 meters deep. I would not recomend anybody to touch those bolts because they are to hot to touch. It is placed in Reykjanes, Iceland.

This fungus, Puccinia convolvuli or Bindweed Rust was found by a friend of mine in Suffolk during September 2018. It is a new rust species for Suffolk and is only the 4th record in the U.K. on the FRDBI.
