Aluminum fuel tank. I never used to like these.... but the stock front mounted tank had started to rust and was leaking petrol all over my feet! With this body the only way to remove the tank to replace or repair it is by taking the body off the pan. I decided to fitting the rear mounted tank was much easier! :-)

You can really tell how long these locks have been here. It's nice to know that the people running these tourist sites don't clear them away :)
Well, not really rusted, I'm just getting into processing like this, I even got to be in this one and it works, (well I think it does) you can see my reflection.
Today there's a postal strike.
I ordered a particular type of wire I needed on Tuesday and of course it hasn't arrived.
I'm stuck with out it.
So I'm sharing ,with you, part of my series of rust photographs.

Please pray for me from 9.30 onwards.
First I apply a base of just red iron oxide with one of the sponges. I keep the paper towel handy to wipe off any excess. I also mix a bit of the red iron oxide with some toffee brown for the lighter less saturated rust that I apply over the pure red rust. I forgot to take a photo of that.
this is on a little sliver of land in bay of chetumal, between belize and mexico. it is probably from the early 1800's. no one knows why it is there or how it got there.
