Dug this out of the archives from October 2012 for submission to a challenge for Rust, Rusty, Rustic.
Gently rusting in the Devon air was this woebegone 1920's Austin Seven, it carries a Devon (DV) plate but not all is readable. When this was taken in 1968 this would have been just another MOT casualty, I hope it made it into restoration but I suspect it was a parts donor for the Austin in the garage.

I love the color of this one.
I went to take pictures of driftwood but found this rusted area on one of the bridge columns and became more interested in it than the driftwood.
This is where my eye has been lately, spotting all sorts of interesting abstract textures.
"Don't ask me to surrender"
Her voice fell tired and spent
"My hopes and dreams,
a silent heart I carry here within"
her outstretched wings, left tattered
A sail aged with rust
"a breath in time, that's yours and mine...
it belongs to only us."
And I will write her name and cast it to the sky
silhouettes recede into a mother's tearful eyes
a host of angels clamor to her side
a light dissolves to kiss the wind, release the dragonfly.

My mind has really been mush lately. I dont care to think or plan or be inspired. So, I sat down with nothing in mind and spent the evening layering colors and making textures and doing something enjoyably abstract

Part of my collection of abandoned, forgotten relics in the Georgetown area of Seattle. I love this area to explore, it offers many unusual and interesting relics to photograph. Very industrial. You can see the entire set here...click me
Object in the Kalkbaai harbour. Three exposures taken with Olympus OMD-EM5 and blended to get the final image. Base exposure at ASA 800 was 1/800 f11. 14 Desember 2013
I saw this along Beavers Ridge in Pike County, Ohio. It appears to be one of the earlier N series, probably over 50 years old.
Every time I see this giant mass of rusting metal I'm torn between lots of different emotions.
One part of me considers this just that, an awful piece of rusting metal. Another part however appreciates its majestic presence, watching over the sea.
It's a bulky machine made for rough job, yet here portrayed with lots of delicate details.
It's ugly and dull yet beautiful and fascinating at the same time.
I guess I like it, maybe...

Found a piece of driftwood on the beach with a rusted bolt. I think its past having a spanner on it to undo it.
